Abstract: PURPOSE: To prepare acellular anti-pertussis vaccines comprising a nontoxic double mutant of a pertussis toxin, a filamentous hemagglutinin, a protein of 69kDa and pharmaceutically permissible vectors suitably used in combination with a diphtheria and a tetanus anatoxins. CONSTITUTION: The acellular anti-pertussis vaccines comprise a nontoxic double mutant of a pertussis toxin, e.g. a substitution of Glu129 and of at least one of other amino acids of the S1 subunit by a natural amino acid in the amino acid sequence of the S1 subunit (e.g. the Glu129 replaced by Gly, Arg9 replaced by Lys and Trp26 replaced by Ile), a filamentous hemagglutinin obtained from Bordetella pertussis ΔTox deficient in pertussis toxin gene or Bordetella pertussis modified so as to produce a nontoxic pertussis toxin and a protein of 69kDa.
