Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for recognizing a geometrical shape in an image by using the fuzzy logic. SOLUTION: This method includes decision of edges and gradation of the edges in an image. The gradient is corrected by a 1st fuzzy logic process and number of points included in a curve is decided by a 2nd fuzzy logic process. A fuzzy device to recognize a geometrical shape in the image to realize this method includes an edge detector 3, a fuzzy gradient correction device 5 to correct the gradient and a fuzzy boat attributer 6 to decide number of points included in a curve.
