    Abstract: FEATURED IS A MAGNETIC DRUM ASSEMBLY INCLUDING A ROTARY DRUM (14) SUPPORTING A MAGNETIC HEAD (1) FOR RECORDING/ REPRODUCING INFORMATION ON A MAGNETIC TAPE AND A STATIONARY DRUM (9) SECURED TO A BASE OF A MAGNETIC RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE. IN ONE ASPECT OF THE INVENTION, THE STATIONARY DRUM (9) IS MOLDED FORM A RESIN MATERIAL TOGETHER WITH A METAL MATERIAL PARTIALLY EMBEDDED AND PARTIALLY EXPOSED AND BEING SECURED AT THE EXPOSED PART OF THE METAL TO THE BASE OF THE MAGNETIC RECORDING/REPRODUCING DEVICE. IN ANOTHER ASPECT OF THE INVENTION, THE ROTARY DRUM (14) IS MOLDED FROM A RESIN MATERIAL TOGETHER WITH A METAL MATERIAL PARTIALLY EMBEDDED AND PARTIALLY EXPOSED AND THE MAGNETIC HEAD (1) IS SECURED AT THE EXPOSED PART OF THE METAL OF THE ROTARY DRUM (14). SUCH A DRUM ASSEMBLY IS ADVANTAGEOUS IN THAT IT IS CAPABLE OF MAINTAINING AN INITIAL ACCURACY OF ITS SIZES AND SHAPE WITHOUT DETERIORATION IN ITS MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OVER TIME DUE TO CREEP DEFORMATION AND INTERNAL STRESS.
