Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner density sensor which detects a toner density with high accuracy without being affected by a temperature change. SOLUTION: The toners sticking to the surface of a photoreceptor drum is irradiated with IR light from a light emitting diode LED1 and the IR light reflected by the toners is received by a light receiving diode PD1. Thermistors TH1 and TH2 are used for the feedback resistor of amplifiers IC2 and IC4 respectively in an amplifier circuit for detecting color toner density and an amplifier circuit for detecting black toner density for amplifying the output from the light receiving diode PD1. The gains of the respective amplifier circuits are so regulated from the input resistors R2 and R4 to the amplifier circuits and the thermistor TEL and TH2 in such a manner that the optimum output may be obtained.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To move a cursor to a prescribed position in a short time from which the cursor is moved once by providing a storing means storing the position of the cursor and a calling means for moving the cursor to the position stored in the storing means. SOLUTION: The storing means is provided with RAM 24 being a memory storing the position of the cursor and a switch 26 for making RAM 24 to store. The calling means is provided with a calling switch 27 for moving the cursor 12 to the position stored in RAM 24, and both switches 26 and 27 are connected to a control part 16. The control part 16 makes RAM 24 store the absolute address of the cursor position at the time by means of the on signal of the storing switch 26. In addition the control part 16 calculates the moving quantity of the cursor 12 from the present cursor position so as to move the cursor 12 to the cursor position stored in RAM 24 by means of the on signal of the calling switch 27, and only data on the moving quantity is transmitted to a personal computer 11.

CONSTITUTION: This photoangle sensor comprises a photodetecting part 2 made of two photodiodes PD1, PD2 detecting the beams from a light source and a flare stopping wall 3 having a long diaphragm window 4 in almost a strip type in one direction which is arranged in front of the photodetecting part 2 and controls beams coming into the PD1, PD2, where the aperture window 4 is arranged so that its longitudinal axis may be perpendicular to a given plane and its opening plane counter to the central part of the photodetecting part 2. In such a structure, the longitudinal dimension Ld2 of the flare stopping wall 3 is made larger than the width dimension Ld1 of the photodetecting part 2 while the short directional dimension Wd2 is made smaller than the width dimension Wd2 of the photodetecting part 2.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To discriminate the type of the contamination of the water under test by constituting a light emitting element with multiple elements having different wavelengths. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting element 1 incorporates an infrared LED chip 1a having the peak wavelength of 950nm, a red LED chip 1b having the peak wavelength of 660 nm, and a green LED chip 1c having the peak wavelength of 555 nm. It is optically coupled with a light receiving element 2 across the translucent tube of a detection path 3 where washing water is circulated. The light emitting element l is lighted by a microcomputer 7 on a time division basis. Multiple load resistors 6 are initially set for the chips 1a-1c to suppress the irregularities of the output of the element 1 and the sensitivity of the element 2 and to increase a dynamic range, and the corresponding resistors 6 are switched when the chips 1a-1c are lighted to keep the light receiving sensitivity constant. As the washing water is contaminated, the output of the element 2 is decreased than that in the initial stage, and the attenuation factor of each wavelength is changed according to the type of contamination. The type of contamination can be discriminated based on each attenuation factor detected by the element 2.

At this time, a signal from the output part 26 of the signal processing circuit 21 is negative-fed back to an amplifier circuit 4 via resistors R27, R26 and a capacitor C15, and adjustment so as to set the output of the amplifier circuit 4 at a certain setting level is performed, and an unrequited reflected light component can be eliminated.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type detector which can accurately judge whether or not an object exists in a fixed zone of observation which the casing of the detector faces regardless of the surface condition of the object. SOLUTION: The reflection type detector is provided with a light emitting section 5 which projects light toward a zone 80 of observation from the inside of a casing 2 and a light receiving section 8 which outputs electric currents from electrodes 31 and 32 correspondingly to the position of a light receiving surface 30 on which light is made incident. The detector is also provided with an optical system 7 which permits the reflected light of the light emitted from the light emitting section 5 to fall on the position of the surface 30 corresponding to the distance between the casing 2 and the object and a signal generating section 9 which generates and outputs the light quantity signal V1 corresponding to the sum of the values of the currents outputted from the electrodes 31 and 32 of the light receiving section 8 and the range finding signal V2 corresponding to the ratio between the values of the electric currents outputted from the electrodes 31 and 32. The device judges whether or not the object exists in the zone 80 of observation based on the signals V1 and V2 .

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect smoke carefully by arranging a light emitting element, a light receiving element and a signal processing circuit for detecting the presence/absence of smoke, and providing the processing circuit with a memory part for storing the data of the voltage level of a detecting signal and a holding time of the voltage level and a control part for making a correction to a predetermined sensing level of smoke. CONSTITUTION:An output signal of a photodetecting diode 2 is input and amplified at an amplifier circuit 9, and then connected to a microcomputer 20. When no smoke is present at the starting time, the circuit 9 is corrected to a voltage of a low range, which is used as a level reference value. The correction is effected by the control by a CPU 23 of the microcomputer 20 in the course from a PWM generating circuit 22, a smoothing circuit 15 to the circuit 9. The correcting value is stored in a RAM 26. In the event that a detecting signal is raised to indicate for a long time that the smoke is present, it is so judged that this is not smoke, but caused by the other reason such as an outdoor light or the like. The output signal showing that the smoke is present is stopped and the detecting signal is corrected to be close to a preset sensing level of smoke. The time of the level of the detecting signal is stored in the RAM 26. The same correction is carried out also in the case where smoke is present at the starting time.
