    Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure the quantity of enzyme by arranging at least three optical absorption detectors in consecsutive positions with respect to the proceeding of an enzyme reaction so that the detected value for use in calculation may be selected in accordance with the values obtained by the first and second detectors. CONSTITUTION:In case glutamic acid oxalacetic transminase (GOT) in serum is to be measured by the production rate method using malic dehydrogenase enzyme (MDH) and nicotinic acid amide adenine dinucleotide of reduction type, the concentration of NADH2 is measured at the times t1, t2 and t3 after the start of the enzyme reaction to obtain the measured absorption values d1, d2 and d3. Then, the preset absorption variation level DELTAd0 is compared with the value obtained from equation II so that, if the latter is higher, the value of equation II is used as the value DELTAE of equation I and so that, if the latter is lower, the value of equation III is used as DELTAE of equation I thereby to calculate the value of GOT. Here, V indicates the liquid quantity of the final reaction; TF indicates a temperature coefficient; epsilon indicates the absorption coefficient at the measured wavelength of NADH2; v indicates the quantity of serum; and a indicates the length of the optical path.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make accurate inspection and measurement possible by fitting inspection bodies to a rotary carriage unit, which moves in a loop while holding them by suspending and then stops, and then by providing two devices which inject a reagent on its movement track. CONSTITUTION:Rotary disk 18, rotated in intermittent motion as shown by E by gear 18a and a motor, stops at a fixed position. Inspection bodies 8 are sequentially led to depression unit 19 which leads the reagent to a mixing reactor tank after the reagent contained in the sealed part of each inspection body is depressed by attachment-detachment device 17, the 1st mixing unit composed of depression receiving pedestal 19', separate injector 32 which adds a reagent held by any other bodies than the inspection bodies to mixing reactor tank 14 suspended by the inspection body, the 2nd mixing unit, and reaction result measuring instrument 20, thereby providing arithmetic display of the result. Providing depression units 19 at two points or more provides separate injection after dissolution in case that ferment unstable in retaining is used by being frozen and dried, so that efficient and rapid measurement can be done within the limited time by this device.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To measure the absorbance of a sample free from mixing of noise with a limited quantity by using a sample cell with a mirror-like bottom surface while an opening is provided at the top thereof. CONSTITUTION:A liquid sample cell 1 is cylindrical and has an opening 2 at the top thereof while the bottom surface thereof forms a mirror-like surface 3. A cell side wall 4 is made up of a glass sheet. Ceram and a reagent for GOT is housed in the cell 1, to which a light 15 from a light source 12 is admitted as a light 340-750mm. in the wavelength through an incidence slit 11 by way of a focusing lens 13 and a wavelength limiting filter 14. In the cell 1, the incident light 15 passes vertically through a sample liquid 21 from the opening 2 and after reflected on the lower mirror-like surface 3, enters a light detector 16 pasing reversely through the liquid sample 21 again. As the measuring light passes twice through the sample liquid, this can reduce the quantity of sample and eliminate mixing of noise as none of the measuring light passes through the sude wall of the cell.
