    Abstract: PURPOSE: To provide an aluminum foil for the electrode of an electrolytic capacitor in which multiple deep etching pits can be made uniformly at high density by suppressing generation of a local fusion pit in the initial stage of etching and the surface enlarging rate, and thereby the capacitance, is increased. CONSTITUTION: Occupation area of surface crack is 30% or above and the number of protrusions having vertical angle of 140 deg. or lass in the irregular profile on the surface is 20/0.5mm or less in the direction perpendicular to the rolling direction. Occupation area of oil pit on the surface is 30% or above, or alternatively the occupation area of surface crack is 30% or above and the number of protrusions having vertical angle of 140 deg. or less in the irregular profile on the surface may be 20/0.5mm or less in the direction perpendicular to the rolling direction. Preferably, the surface layer of a foil is removed within the range of average thickness of 0.5μm prior to etching.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable many deep etching pits to be formed uniformly and densely by a method wherein the number of squares with recess streaks or projection streaks occupies a specified proportion of the total when the surface of a foil is divided into many squares of a specified value. CONSTITUTION:Roll marks 1 consisting of a plurality of roll streaks extending in a roll direction are formed in parallel by transfer of polishing streaks of a roll, and in addition to the roll marks 1, intermittent recess marks or projection marks 2 are formed which face orthogonally or obliquely to a roll direction. A pitch P2 of the recess or projection streak 2 orthogonal or oblique to the roll direction must be regulated to an average of 1-20mum. Another requirement is that the surface of a foil is divided into many squares of 20mum where the number of squares with the recess or projection streaks 2 occupies 30% or more of the total of squares. This enables much increase in the enlargement ratio of an electrode foil and an increase in electrostatic capacitance.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve etching performance and to surely obtain a high electrostatic capacity by surely forming an oxidized film having etching nuclei uniformly on the surface of aluminum foil. CONSTITUTION:A stage for heating the aluminum foil to a high temp., a surface removing stage for removing the surface layer of the aluminum foil subjected to the high-temp. heat treatment by the high-temp. heating stage and an oxidized film forming stage for forming the oxidized film on the surface of the aluminum foil from which the surface layer is removed by this surface removing stage are executed in this process for production of the aluminum material for an electrolytic capacitor electrode. This surface removing stage and the oxidized film forming stage are simultaneously executed by one stage, by executing the surface layer removing treatment by a dry process in an atmosphere contg. moisture and oxygen.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the surface of Al foil from being flawed or wrinkling and to form oxide films over the surfaces to uniform thickness by performing a heating and a cooling treatment while floating the Al foil by blowing gas to its surface. CONSTITUTION:The Al foil 11 which is unwound from an uncoiler 10 in a unwinding chamber 1 is carried in a heating chamber 2. The gas such as air is blown out of the nozzles of air blowoff devices 12 which are arranged above and below the Al foil 11, which is heated while floated with the blowing pressure. The Al foil is moved linearly as it is and carried into a cooling zone 4 while held in the floated state, so that the Al foil is cooled. The Al foil for the electrolytic capacitor electrode which is thus obtained contacts no roll, so its flawing and wrinkling are reducible. Further, both the top and reverse surfaces of the foil contact equally with the atmosphere, so oxide films are uniformly formed on both the top and reverse surfaces.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To connect an inside atmosphere adjusting tube to the extruding device in freely attachable and detachable by setting a male fitting component at the connecting mouth of the extruding device, attaching a female fitting component at a top end of the inside atmosphere adjusting tube, forming the screw parts being able to fit mutually with screwing at both components and fastening the both screws. CONSTITUTION:The metallic male fitting component 29 projecting to outside is set fixedly at the connecting mouth of the inside atmosphere adjusting tube (an inert gas contg. oxygen supplying mouth) 9 formed in the extruding device, and the metallic female fitting component (a box nut) 31 is set freely rotationably at the top end of the inside atmosphere adjusting tube (an introducing tube) 15. Next, the screws to be able for screwing mutually is formed at the both fitting components 29, 31, and because the silver brazing layer 30 is formed on the one side surface, at least, of both screws 28a, 31b, the inside atmosphere adjusting tube 15 can be connected to the extruding device in freely attachable/detachable and watertight by fastening both screws 28a, 31b, so the burning for both screws with the heat in the extruding time is not generated.
