Abstract: The object is to provide a flame retardant polyamide resin composition having excellent tensile elongation at break and excellent properties for use as a hinge. A flame retardant polyamide resin composition is provided, which comprises 100 parts by weight of a polyamide resin mixture consisting of a first aliphatic polyamide and at least one polyamide selected from the group consisting of a second aliphatic polyamide, which differs from the first aliphatic polyamide, and a semi-aromatic polyamide, and from 0.4 to 20 parts by weight of a melamine cyanurate-type flame retarder.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a composition excellent in tensile elongation at break by compounding respective specific amounts of a polyamide resin mixture composed of a specific weight ratio of polyamide 66, polyamide 6 and one or more of polyamides 66-6, and a melamine cyanurate flame retardant. SOLUTION: A polyamide resin composition contains: 100 pts.wt. of polyamide mixture composed of 20-85 wt.% polyamide 66 and 80-15 wt.% polyamide 6 or one or more of polyamides 66-6; and 0.4-20 pts.wt. of melamine cyanurate flame retardant having an average particle size of not more than 100 μm, and the tensile elongation at break of the resin composition is not less than 100%. Further, if necessary, the resin composition is combined with a stabilizer to oxygen, light, ultraviolet rays and the like, a lubricant, an antielectrostatic, a reinforcing agent and the like. The melamine cyanurate flame retardants include melamine cyanurate, mono(β-cyanoethyl)isocyanurate, bis(β-cyanoethyl) isocyanurate, tris(β-cyanoethyl)isocyanurate, and the like.

CONSTITUTION:The composition comprises (A) 100 pts.wt. polyamide resin such as nylon 6, (B) 10 to 100 pts.wt., preferably 20 to 80 pts.wt. styrene- maleimide copolymer which is prepared by grafting a carboxylic acid or its derivative to a copolymer of a styrene monomer (styrene or alpha-methylstyrene) and a maleimide monomer (maleimide or N-phenylmaleimide), (C) 1 to 30, preferably 3 to 25 pts.wt. thiourethane resin having repeating units of the formula (Ar is phenylene) and more than 3,500, preferably more than 6,000 molecular weight, and (D) 10 to 125 pts.wt. glass fiber.

The ratio of melt viscosity of the components A and B is 0.05-1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To readily and quickly produce a modified copolymer excellent in its solvent resistance, heat resistance and mechanical strength, by reacting a specific amt. of a specified silane coupling agent with an ethylenic copolymer contg. as its copolymerization component a monomer having a polar group. CONSTITUTION:An ethylenic copolymer comprising at least ethylene and an epoxy compd. having one or more epoxy groups and one double bond is reacted with a silane coupling agent of formula (R' is 1-20C polar group contg. one or more of amino, epoxy, halogeno, mercapto, isocyanato and sulfonylazido; R'' is 1-20C alkyl or alkoxy; n is 1, 2 or 3) (e.g., gamma-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane) at an amt. of 0.01-2.0 times moles the epoxy groups of the ethylenic copolymer. The modified copolymer thus produced is used for manufacturing parts for automobiles or various machines, pipes, etc.
