Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the elastic characteristic of a flexible forced fitting range by providing side enlarged parts at the opposite parts of the forced fitting range, and causing the forced fitting range to make contact with a perforated wall only at the side enlarged parts while making a forced fit. SOLUTION: A circular forced fitting range 4 has side enlarged portions 8, 9 at the opposite parts of its two longitudinal sides 6, 7. The enlarged parts 8, 9 are constructed as added parts provided at the longitudinal edges 10, 11 of a circular section, i.e., at ends which are circular when viewed on a cross section. The added parts continue to the curve of the circular section and extend in the longitudinal direction of the fitting range 4. The added parts forming the enlarged parts 8, 9 get broader in the longitudinal direction of the fitting range 4 and are rounded into circular shapes at their tops. Since the enlarged parts 8, 9 are designed to make contact with only the perforated wall of a printed wiring board, the fitting range 4 can be given a very good elastic characteristic.

Abstract: A press-in pin includes an elastic, cross sectionally bow-shaped press-in region having a bow section, two longitudinal sides and lateral flares at opposing locations on the two longitudinal sides. In a pressed-in condition, the press-in region rests against a bore wall only with the flares, but not with the bow section. Such a press-in pin has a very favorable resilience behavior and practically speaking, is only elastically deformed.
