Abstract:
PCT No. PCT/FR92/00883 Sec. 371 Date May 10, 1993 Sec. 102(e) Date May 10, 1993 PCT Filed Sep. 23, 1992 PCT Pub. No. WO93/06704 PCT Pub. Date Apr. 1, 1993.The invention relates to an interconnection system between a mother card and a plurality of daughter cards provided with connectors. In order to make it possible to increase the density of interconnections between the mother card (10) and the daughter cards (20, 22, 23), additional direct connections are provided between adjacent connectors in addition to the "conventional" electrical connections provided between the connectors (40, 42) and the bases (12, 14). To do this, additional connection elements (47, 48, 50, 52) connected to conductors inside the connectors are disposed facing one another in the side faces (40b, 42a) of the connectors.

Abstract:
The intermediate connector has a shell (22) of a conducting material. The shell is in two halves that form an internal space to terminate the cables and shielding. The outer end of the shell has fixings to attach to the outside of the connector (12). The inner end provides entry for the cable (14). Three clamps (34,36,38) fit inside the shell and clamp the end of the cable inside the shell. The two clamps nearer the outer end of the shell are made of a conducting material, and provide electrical connection between the shell and the clamps. The material of the shell is chosen so it provides electromagnetic protection and electrical connection to the shielding braid round the cable.

Abstract:
System for interconnecting a motherboard and a plurality of daughter boards provided with plugs. In order to increase the density of connections between the motherboard (10) and daughter boards (20, 22, 23) further direct connections are provided between adjacent plugs in addition to the conventional electrical connections between the plugs (40, 42) and bottom plates (12, 14). For this purpose, additional connection elements (47, 48, 50, 52) linked to the inner plug conductors are oppositely arranged in the lateral faces (40b, 42a) of the plugs.
