    Abstract: A wireless local loop system manages radio data transmission capacity and network resources shared by a plurality of subscriber stations by considering the type of connections desired to be created to the subscriber stations and the radio data transmission capacity, and in some cases QoS parameters, and network resources required for those connections. The subscriber stations include data and telephony ports and can include a subscriber utilization client (SUC) to assist in the management process. The SUC in each subscriber station communicates with a network utilization manager (NUM) to request network resources from the base station. The NUM determines the requirements, in data transmission capacity and/or QoS levels, for the desired connection and considers the utilization of the network resources at the base station, or sector of the base station, in determining whether to establish the desired connection. The NUM can consider the required level and a desired level of data transmission capacity and/or QoS levels and allocate resources for the connection according to either level, or therebetween. The SUC and NUM can prioritize the establishment of connections on an appropriate basis, including the type of connection, the parties to the connection, the revenue potential of the connection and the port for the connection at the subscriber station, etc.

    Abstract: A data channel for transmitting data from a base station to subscriber stations is provided. Each subscriber station has a different service-class which reflects the reception-quality of the data transmitted from the base station. The data channel is organized into a plurality of frames. Each frame contains service-class information that is packaged in the frame in such a manner that all subscriber stations can recover the service-class information. The frame also includes payload data destined for at least one of the subscriber stations. The payload data is packaged in the frame in such a manner that the subscriber station having payload data destined therefore can recover its payload data, regardless of its service class. Subscriber stations that have no payload data destined therefore, and/or which are in a poorer service-class than the destined subscriber-stations, can use the service-class information to determine that the remainder of the frame can be ignored. An apparatus, system and method relating to the data channel are also provided.

Cada estacion suscriptora tiene una clase de servicio diferente que refleja la calidad de recepcion de los datos que se transmiten desde la estacion base. Cada cuadro contiene informacion de la clase de servicio que se empaca en el cuadro de tal manera que todas las estaciones suscriptoras puedan recuperar la informacion de clase de servicio. El cuadro tambien incluye datos de carga util destinados para cuando menos una de las estaciones suscriptoras. Los datos de carga util se empacan en el cuadro de tal manera que la estacion suscriptora que tenga datos de carga util destinados para la misma pueda recuperar sus datos de carga util, sin importar su clase de servicio. Las estaciones suscriptoras que no tienen datos de carga util destinados para las mismas, y/o las cuales esten un una clase de servicio mas deficiente que las estaciones suscriptoras destinadas, pueden usar la informacion de clase de servicio para determinar que se puede ignorar el resto del cuadro, Tambien se proporcionan un aparato, sistema y metodo con relacion al canal de datos.
