    Abstract: La presente invencion proporciona una arquitectura de telecomunicacion. La arquitectura incluye un agente suscriptor para cada suscriptor dentro de una red de telecomunicacion. El agente suscriptor incluye el numero telefonico del suscriptor y caracteristicas de llamada. La red tambien incluye agentes de terminal, los cuales estan directamente asociados con una o mas terminales tales como telefonos. El agente suscriptor puede ser asociado con uno o mas agentes de terminal dentro de la red, de manera que el numero telefonico del suscriptor y el establecimiento de las caracteristicas de llamada pueden ser llevados a cualquier terminal dentro de la red. Una amplia variedad de caracteristicas de llamada y terminales estan soportadas por la arquitectura.

    Abstract: La presente invencion proporciona un sistema, metodo y aparato novedosos para administrar correos de voz sobre un bucle local inalambrico. El sistema proporciona la colocacion de un local de cliente de correo de voz para el suscriptor y un servidor de correo de voz en una estacion base. El servidor de correo de voz y el cliente de correo de voz cooperan con la estacion base para determinar los tiempos apropiados para transferir correos de voz sobre la WLL y asi liberar la anchura de banda en la WLL para trafico de prioridad mas alta, tales como llamadas de voz. Otra modalidad de la invencion proporciona un metodo para recibir correos de voz utilizando el sistema. Aun otra modalidad proporciona un metodo para entregar los correos de voz de la persona que llama al suscriptor de destino. Pueden ser utilizados varios criterios de prioridades para proporcionar la utilizacion deseada de la anchura de banda.

    Abstract: A wireless local loop system manages radio data transmission capacity and network resources shared by a plurality of subscriber stations by considerin g the type of connections desired to be created to the subscriber stations and the radio data transmission capacity, and in some cases QoS parameters, and network resources required for those connections. The subscriber stations include data and telephony ports and can include a subscriber utilization client (SUC) to assist in the management process. The SUC in each subscriber station communicates with a network utilization manager (NUM) to request network resources from the base station. The NUM determines the requirements , in data transmission capacity and/or QoS levels, for the desired connection and considers the utilization of the network resources at the base station, or sector of the base station, in determining whether to establish the desired connection. The NUM can consider the required level and a desired level of data transmission capacity and/or QoS levels and allocate resources for the connection according to either level, or therebetween. The SUC and NUM can prioritize the establishment of connections on an appropriate basis, includi ng the type of connection, the parties to the connection, the revenue potential of the connection and the port for the connection at the subscriber station, etc.

    Abstract: A method which allows a callee and/or a caller to be billed for telecommunications and which permits notice of charges to be provided to callers, and permits acceptance of charges by callers, prior to completing a connection is disclosed. The invention allows callees to define charges to be applied to calls they receive to be credited to their billing account and/or to waive such charges for some callers and/or in some time periods. Additional information can also be supplied to a caller before the call is completed to the callee, such as an identification of a difference in time zones between the caller and the callee.

    Abstract: The present invention relates generally to telecommunications, and more specifically, to a system and method of teleconferencing. Existing telephony systems suffer from a number of problems including system complexity, limite d access and implementation of services on fixed hardware which results in lon g time to bring new products to market. Internet applications implement teleconferencing on end user personal computers, without the network performing any processing of data streams or guaranteeing quality of service in the transmission. The invention provides for an intelligent server which executes a separate mixer for each user, where the mixer is dedicated to the resources available to that user. This allows for an open and flexible teleconference system which can operate over multiple networks.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a novel system, method and apparatus for managing voicemails over a wireless local loop. The system provides for the placement of a voicemail client local to the subscriber and a voicemail server at the base station. The voicemail server and voicemail client cooperate with the base station to determine appropriate times to transfer voicemails over the WLL and thereby free-up bandwidth on the WLL for higher priority traffic, such as voice calls. Another embodiment of the invention provides a method for receiving voicemails utilizing the system. Yet another embodiment provides a method for delivery of voicemails from a caller to destination subscriber. Various prioritization criteria can be used to provided desired utilization of bandwidth.
