Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast print system that receives a digital broadcast program, easily prints out an image of the digital broadcast program or the like on the basis of its digital signal and prints out the image of the received digital broadcast program when required. SOLUTION: A receiver 2 receiving image data of a digital broadcast program transfers the image data without modification to its digital data to a printer 4 and stores the data into a print RAM section 32 of the printer 4. In the case of printing out the image, a print image recording and reproducing section 33 records the image data stored in the print RAM 32 to a recording medium and an image print section 35 prints out the image of the image data. Or the print image recording and reproducing section 33 reproduces the image data from the recording medium and the image print section 35 prints out the image in accordance with the image data.
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high speed transfer of image data included in a digital broadcast program received by a receiver to a printer at low cost. SOLUTION: A receiver (STB 30) that receives a digital broadcast program, a display device 31 that displays the digital broadcast program received by the STB 30, and a printer 32 that prints out image data included in the digital broadcast program received by the STB 30 are interconnected by a 1st signal transmission means that transmits a digital signal. Then the printer 32 acquires the image data from the receiver 30 via the 1st signal transmission means.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast reception system which performs flexible print operations efficiently at low cost. SOLUTION: A set-top box STB 30 receives a digital broadcast program and a display device 31 displays this digital broadcast program, and a printer 32 prints out an image included in the digital broadcast program. In this case, an image drawing engine section 53 generates image data included in a digital broadcast program and a video RAM section 54 temporarily stores the data. Furthermore, the image data stored in the video RAM section 54 are transferred to a print RAM section 55. Then the image data stored in the video RAM section 54 are outputted to a display device 31 and the image data stored in the print RAM section 55 are outputted to the printer 32.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time required for start of printing when printing received image data. SOLUTION: On the basis of inputted image data, a plotting engine part 13 performs plotting matching with the resolution of a printer 50 to a video RAM part 14. When it is instructed for printing, the image data for one picture stored in the video RAM part 14 are supplied through a print image I/F part 18 to the printer 50. The printer 50 prints an image based on the supplied image data.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control operations of printers with different specifications from a terminal without changing a specification of a media converter provided between the terminal and the printers connected via different communication media. SOLUTION: A printing control terminal 1 generates data based on a media control protocol P11 by utilizing a control interface from data based on a printing control protocol P12 and transmits it through communication media 110. A connected media converter 2 extracts the data based on the printing control protocol P12 from the data received through the communication media 110 by utilizing the control interface and controls data transfer in communication media 120 based on the extracted data. An image printer 3 performs a printing operation based on the data received from the connected media converter 2 through the communication media 120. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve convenience by storing image data transmitted from an imaging apparatus regardless of whether a printer currently performs printing. SOLUTION: This image storage device is provided with a first communication I/F 21 for communicating with a digital still camera 10 to receive image data, an image storing part 23 for temporarily storing the image data received by the first communication I/F 21, and a second communication I/F 22 for communicating with the printer 30 to transmit the image data stored in the image storing part 23 to the printer 30, wherein the first communication I/F 21 transmits an image data request to the digital still camera 10, receives image data corresponding to the image data request and stores the received image data in the image storing part 23 while the printer 30 currently performs printing when receiving a printing start request from the printer 30. Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically print an image recorded on a recording medium. SOLUTION: An IEEE 1394 port 15 is an input port for receiving a DV packet sent from a DV (Digital Video camera) 1 and the captured DV packet is fed to a LINK/PHY 14 and stored. The LINK/PHY 14 is provided with a memory, controlled by the FIFO system and the FIFO stores the DV packet supplied from the 1394 port 15, and the FIFO transfers the stored DV packet to a RAM 13 by means of DMA. A buffer for the RAM 13 stores the DV packet captured with an arbitrary timing. An NTSC encoder 16 decodes the DV frame sent from the DV 1 into a display signal of the NTSC system and gives the signal to a monitor 4 via a terminal 22. An engine interface 17 generates the output signal of a static image to be printed and supplies the signal to the print engine via a terminal 23.

Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a picture printer based on an IEEE 1394 standard capable of printing picture information inputted from outside and character data such as a program guide with sufficient resolution without providing a vector font and an extra buffer memory. SOLUTION: In an STB 3, a demodulation part 11, a de-scramble part 12, a data conversion part 13 and a demultiplexer part 14 detect and demodulate/ decode the inputted picture information and character data information in the electronic program guide, store the demodulated/decoded character data information in the electronic program guide in a RAM 22 and then, includes it in a packet based on the IEEE 1394 standard to output it to a printer 5. In the printer 5, a data input part 31 inputs the picture information and the character data information included in this packet to detect printing control information and a print engine 33 prints it in accordance with the control of a CPU 23.
