Abstract:
A liquid comprising a dye and a solvent for dispersing the dye and, added thereto, a polyhydric alcohol having C0-9 hydrocarbon group which exhibits a ratio of inorganic value (IV) to organic value (OV), I/O, of 1.18 to 2.5 so that the 0-sec dynamic surface tension thereof is in the range of 30 to 40 mN/m. Thus, the occurrence of microbubbles in ink (2) can be inhibited to thereby avoid jetting defects such as jetting failure and jet bending with the result that high-quality images free of thinning and voids can be printed.
Abstract:
An ink (2) containing an EO adduct of a divalent alcohol containing a hydrocarbon group having 9 or less carbon atoms and an I/O value in the range of 1 to 1.37 is brought to ink droplets (i) through nozzles (42a) and printed on recording paper (P). According to this construction, the formation of fine bubbles in the ink (2) can be suppressed to prevent the occurrence of ejection failure problems such as a failure to be ejected and an ejection directionality problem, and high-quality images free from image blurring and dropouts can be printed.
