PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To strengthen linkage between a portable electronic apparatus and a server apparatus, and to improve usability of a mobile apparatus or the like more. SOLUTION: Transmission data addressed to the server apparatus including metadata regarding content data stored in the storing means of the own apparatus or apparatus information regarding the own apparatus is generated, and transmitted from a mobile apparatus 4 mounted on a cradle 1 to the server apparatus 2 via the cradle 1. The server apparatus 2 receives the transmission data transmitted from the mobile apparatus 4 via the cradle 1, and executes processing according to the received transmission data, use processing of the content data, understanding processing of the use status of the content data, and understanding processing of the state of the mobile apparatus. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a set item by a small number of input means and to vary the set value. SOLUTION: The on-screen display (OSD) shown in Fig. A is for, for example, setting a photographic distance by manual adjustment and setting aperture- priority exposure. Here, the shutter speed is determined uniquely by the aperture value and the EV value which are given priority, so the shutter speed is displayed differently from other items. In this state, a symbol (a) which shows that change is possible is added to a display of an EV value '0EV' whose set value can be changed. For example, an input means by which two kinds of operations, i.e., the operation of an operation part in a rotational direction and the operation for pressing the rotary shaft of the operation part in a specific direction are inputted is rotated to set a reference value (EV value) of exposure setting. At this time, a display of an aperture value 'F2.0' is fixed and the set value and display of a shutter speed '500' are automatically varied to a value determined by the aperture value and EV value.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the convenience in use of a mobile apparatus and so forth by linking the mobile apparatus (portable electronic apparatus) to a different apparatus. SOLUTION: When a mobile apparatus 4 is placed on a cradle 1, it is detected by a cradle 1 and a server apparatus 2 is notified thereof. When the server apparatus 2 is notified about placing of the mobile apparatus 4 from the cradle 1, the server apparatus 2 specifies processing to be performed between the relevant mobile apparatus 4 and a home apparatus 6 and by providing storage data from the mobile apparatus 4 (pattern 1) or inversely providing the mobile apparatus 4 with data (pattern 2) between the relevant mobile apparatus 4 and the linked home apparatus 6, the mobile apparatus is enabled to acquire required data or suitably manage stored data. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high convenience to a user even when data in a plurality of types of formats are mixedly recorded on a recording medium. SOLUTION: 'MEM*****.ind' being a file showing a type of a flash memory, a 'DCIM' being a directory in which a still picture file is stored, a 'VOICE' being a directory in which a voice file is stored, a 'HIFI' being a directory in which an audio file is stored and an 'MC******' being a directory in which information proper to a vendor are recorded in a root directory in a flash memory. Audio visual equipment grasps what type of data are recorded on a mounted flash memory by defining such a rule as a data recording method for the flash memory, and confirms and erases the format of data in an uncorresponding format.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To issue such an informing sound as adapts an equipment for an operating function and its use and makes operation, etc., pleasant by allowing an informing means to issue sound consisting of plural musical intervals and/or melodies. SOLUTION: This equipment is provided with a musical signal outputting part 13 generating kinds of musical interval signals, an envelope signal outputting part 14 generating kinds of envelope signals, and an amplifier 15 generating an informing sound signal obtained by mix-amplifying the musical interval signal and the envelope signal. A control part 12 controls to issue a characteristic informing sound obtained by mixing the musical interval signal of buzzer sound (melody) corresponding to the key operation of an external key block part 11 and the envelope signal. This informing sound is obtained by adding a musical interval to individual sounds, making a melody and mixing the envelope signal which is mixed for making sound more comfortable to hear, and can leave reverberations.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the visibility with respect to a user, even on a small screen. SOLUTION: A menu item 101 currently selected by a cursor is changed from an icon indication, into a character indication representing a function name, such as, "flash level" and a display area of the indication is expanded. Menu items 102 to 105 that are not currently selected are displayed in the icon indications, and their display area is reduced in size. As a result, a large number of menu items can be displayed in one display screen and visibility of the selected item for the user can be improved. When the server apparatus 2 is notified from the cradle 1 about it that the mobile apparatus 4 is mounted, the server apparatus 2 prepares data to be provided to the mobile apparatus 4, transmits these data to the mobile apparatus via the cradle 1 and stores the data in the mobile apparatus 4, so that the data can be utilized at the mobile apparatus 4. SOLUTION: A menu item 101 which is being selected by a cursor at present is switched from icon display to character display such as 'a flash level' indicating the name of a function, and the display area is extended. On the other hand, menu items 102-105 which are not selected provide icon display, and the display areas are reduced. Thus, it is possible to display much more menu items on one display screen, and to improve the visibility of the selected item for a user.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the operability by using the mean luminance of pixels that is evaluated to calculate a correction value, comparing the calculated mean luminance with a prescribed threshold to invert the sign of the correction value calculated by a calculation means, and subtracting the correction value from a pixel value of a part of a 1st image corresponding to a 2nd image so as to generate a 3rd image. SOLUTION: A switch 11 outputs and image signal from an upper stage and received at an input terminal (a) or (b) to an image analysis section 12 and a display control section 14 under the control of a control section 2. The image analysis section 12 calculates a mean luminance value of all pixels of a background image received from the switch 11 and provides an output of the means luminance to the display control section 14. The display control section 14 discriminates whether or not the received means luminance is smaller than a prescribed threshold and the display control section 14 inverts a sign on a correction value calculated before when the display control section 14 discriminates that the mean luminance is smaller than the prescribed threshold value. When the display control section 14 discriminates that the means luminance is not smaller than the prescribed threshold, this process is skipped.
