Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a stage difference to be formed equivalently even if there are no stage differences after two photodetector elements which are placed sandwiching a light-emitting element are actually placed in parallel for a disk surface of a magnetooptical disk. CONSTITUTION:A photodetector 7 and a photodetector 8 are placed within a same plane which is in parallel to a disk surface 4. A convex lens 21 which scatters a scattering light L4 reflected by the disk surface 4 due to lighting from a light-emitting element 6 is placed at a light-reception path of the photodetector 8. When the light-emitting element 6 is placed within a focusing distance of the convex lens 21, scattering light which is scattered by the convex lens 21 is irradiated from an imaginary position of the light-emitting element 6, namely the photodetector 8 is moved away from the light-emitting element 6 by an equivaentl distance 1 {(1=a.a/(f-a): a; light-path length between the convex lens 21 and the light-emitting element 6, f; focusing distance of the convex lens 21}.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To accurately and easily position the external magnetic field coil of an optical pickup device. CONSTITUTION:It is assumed that a distance from the center of an objective lens 5 to the center of a guide shaft 16b in the width direction of a recorder is X1 and a distance from the center of the lens 5 to the center of the manifold 10 of a carriage arm 9 in the longitudinal direction of the recorder is Y1. Then, it is assumed that the distance from the center of the external magnetic field coil 11 to the center of the shaft hole 15b of a lift holder 15 in the width direction is X2 and the distance from the center of the coil 11 to the shaft pin 14 of a frame member 12 for moving a magnetic head in the longitudinal direction is Y2, and X2 and Y2 are respectively adjusted so as to satisfy X1=X2, and Y1=Y2 by setting the values of X1 and Y1 as reference. By providing a mechanism for moving the center of the external magnetic field coil only in an X direction and a mechanism for moving it only in a Y direction, the adjustment is made accurate and easy. The adjustement of skewness and the adjustment in the X and Y directions are made accurate and easy by independetly providing a skewness adjusting mechanism.
