Abstract: A data recording method preferably used to record data on an optical disk such as a DVD+RW disk. If a normal write clock is correctly generated during write of data in a block area (A), the write of data is stopped and a re-allocation of the area (A) is performed. Predetermined data is written in the area (A) by using a reference clock in such a way that the data is written over the areas (A and A+1), thereby preventing any unrecorded portion due to the rotation fluctuation of the optical disk from being generated behind the block (A). Data is written in the area (A+1) by using a normal write clock. Re-allocation of the area (A+1) is also performed. Thus the problem that the tracking servo over the areas (A and A+1) fails is prevented.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a proper skew servo control state corresponding even to a disk having a different reflectance in a recorded region from that in an unrecorded region. SOLUTION: By scanning (radial movement) a disk surface plural times, a domain varying in reflectance is detected, and plural skew error signal values for each sample position are obtained. A skew profile is set as the average value of skew error signals at a same sample position. Moreover, by making a skew profile of a region varying in reflectance invalid once, performing interpolation processing and then an effective value is obtained. By executing skew servo control based on the skew profile thus obtained, it is possible to obtain a proper control state, even if it is at a boundary between a recorded region where the reflectance varies and an unrecorded region.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk recording and reproducing device capable of speedily pulling in and high quality data recording to an APC section by monitoring and controlling operation in the APC section. SOLUTION: When the difference of the optical quantities between at the initial stage and after pull-in of APC exceeds a prescribed value, a control part 30 stops recording. OPC is carried out only when it is required by the decision of OPC performance based on the change of a light quantity. When OPC is not carried out, the detection light quantity of an AD converter 54 is set to a DA converter 53 to restart recording. Then, a time for moving to an OPC area is unnecessitated to optimally hold a reproduction signal in the APC section and reproduction by a DVD-ROM of a DPD tracking system drive never becomes unstable to enable securing of interchangeability. Then, the necessity of the OPC is decided by a temperature variation. When it is not required and dummy recording is required, the APC initial pull-in value is set to 0 and a pull-in time is set to be long, thereby the damage of the optical disk can be prevented by low power pulling in.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid nonconformities where a tracking servo deviates in a prescribed block area, when an optical disk is played back by a ROM drive or the like in the case that shift processing is applied to the prescribed block area of the optical disk, by preventing the prescribed block area from turning into an unrecorded portion. SOLUTION: When a normal write clock is no longer generated correctly during writing data in a block area A, writing of data is stopped (Fig. 11 (a)) and shift processing is applied to this block area. Then, data are written in the block area A by using a reference clock based on a signalling frequency from a quartz oscillator. Data are recorded so as to span the next block area A+1 (Fig. 11 (b)), thereby the area following the block area A is prevented from constituting the unrecorded portion caused by the irregular rotation of the optical disk or the like. Data are recorded on the block area A+1 (Fig. 11 (c)) by using a usual write clock. The shift processing is applied also to the block area A+1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the convenience of the video disk reproducing device by providing an image display control part for performing the control operation of an autoresume mode at the video disk reproducing device. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing button of the video disk reproducing device is depressed, a reproducing mode is set by a mode controller 15 of an image display control part 4, and the device performs a reproducing operation. When a stop button is depressed and the execution of the autoresume mode is confirmed, an image signal reproduced by an information signal reproducing part 1 is stored in a memory 11 and an address signal is stored in the controller 15. When these signals are completely stored, the image signal stored in the memory 11 is read out and displayed on a monitor by operating switches 13 and 14 of an image display switching part 3. When the reproducing button is depressed again, based on the address signal read from the controller 15, the information signal is reproduced from a video disk 20 and transmitted to an information storage part 2 by the reproducing part 1, and the output signal of the reproducing part 1 is displayed by operating the switch of the switching part 3 under the control of the image control part 4.

Next, an optical pickup 3 is moved to the OPC test area of the inner circumference before recording on the area other than the OPC test area at the actual use, and the linear speed rotating state equivalent to the state of the outer circumference of the optical disk is generated to measure the optimum recording power P2 (n) at the OPC test area of the inner circumference. Subsequently, the operation expression P2 (i)=P2 (n)-dP×(n-i) is calculated. Then, the recording operation to the optical disk 1 is carried out by using the optimum recording power P2 (i) obtained from this arithmetic process.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make the contents of a reproduced sound audible even at the time of reproducing at varying speed by repeating alternately normal reproducing during the first prescribed period and track jump of track numbers corresponding to the second prescribed period. CONSTITUTION:A system controller 40 detects a format of a disk VD and sets track jump numbers TJ. Successively, the prescribed setting signal is given to a memory controller 37 from the system controller 40, a memory 33 is controlled, and a still picture is outputted from a D/A converter 34. Also, a muting signal is given to audio processing circuits 22, 23 from the system controller 40 and the circuit is turned on, a track jump signal is given to a servo circuit 14 track jump of parameter TJ is performed. Therefore, a still picture is outputted during this period, an audio signal is muted. Next, a switching circuit 35 is connected to a processing circuit 31 side, muting of the circuits 22, 23 is released, and a video signal of moving picture is outputted to a terminal 36. This operation is repeated until input of a key 51.
