Abstract: In an optical disc player or other apparatus in which a light beam is directed through an objective lens to be focused thereby at a record medium surface for optically reading information recorded in a track on such surface, the lens is mounted in one end of a tubular mounting member through which the path of the light beam extends longitudinally, a support member extends about the tubular mounting member, a leaf spring member, preferably of amorphous metal, extends between the other end of the tubular mounting member and the support member to permit longitudinal movements of the mounting member for correcting focusing errors, and further to permit swinging movements of the mounting member about a center located at such other end for correcting tracking and/or time base errors, and a body of substantially bulky elastic material, such as, polyurethane foam, is interposed between the support member and the tubular mounting member at a location along the latter intermediate its ends for further supporting the tubular mounting member in respect to its longitudinal and swinging movements relative to the support member.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an S/N (signal-to-noise) ratio of a UDI signal using a simple configuration.
SOLUTION: The UDI to be overwritten on an optical disk, in which a synchronization signal and a subcode are set in a master prepit, is read. An RF signal from a disk-reproducing part (not shown) is inputted and processes, such as amplification, offset compensation, and gain adjustment are performed at an amplifier circuit 10. The result is inputted to a peak-hold circuit 20, and an envelope detection is performed. To the detection signal are performed processes, such as amplification and offset compensation at an amplifier circuit 30 and outputted as a UDI signal. Furthermore, in order to prevent the detection errors of the UDI caused by a level gap between a synchronization signal (subcode signal) and an RF signal based on a 3T pattern, the level gap between them is suppressed, by amplifying a 3T signal by a high-pass filter and adding it to the original RF signal and performs envelope detection.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enlarge a jitter margin to a defocusing quantity by equalizing the regenerative RF signal output of an optical head. CONSTITUTION:An equalizer 12 is provided on the output side of the optical head 3 reproducing the recording data of an optical disk 1, the frequency characteristic of the equalizer 12 is set so as to raise the high band frequency of the regenerative RF signal. An optical disk device is controlled with a focus so as to make a tracking level the best, though a point where the jitter margin is minimum is deviated by astigmatism caused by it, an MTF characteristic in appearance is improved by the above-mentioned equalizer 12 and the best point of tracking is coincident with a jitter bottom point.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a device for adjusting the central positions of a magnetic head and an optical head for recording data on a magneto-optical disk. CONSTITUTION:A chip member 25 is attached to the tip of an arm member 23 and a first sensor 25A and a second sensor 25B are formed on both front side and back of the chip member. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup device that realize compatibility with an optical disk having a different track pitch. SOLUTION: A plunger 120 is fixed on a feed gear 102. The tip end of a plunger pin 120a is engaged with a metallic fixture 124. Between the plunger 120 body and the metallic fixture 124, a compression spring 122 is installed around the plunger pin 120a as the center. When driving force for pulling the plunger pin 120a is imparted to the plunger 120, an angle adjusting pin 104 is brought to a 104a position in an angle adjusting hole 106, with the adjusting angle set at α. When no driving force is imparted to the plunger 120, drawing force is actuated by the compression spring 122, bringing the angle adjusting pin 104 to a 104b position in the angle adjusting hole 106, with the adjusting angle set at β. This window part 21g is closed by a prolonged part extending in the vertical direction of the lid 21f. Further, the window part 21g is provided with a hologram element 21h as a light separation means.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small-sized and light pickup with simple constitution by making a laser beam center coincide with a mechanical center by a specified procedure in assembly of an optical pickup. SOLUTION: A laser coupler assembly(LC) 11, a collimate lens 14 and a prism mirror 15 are arranged on a base substrate 20, and a biaxial assembly 29 is temporarily fixed. In this case, the laser diode of the LC 11 is light emitted, and the position of the biaxial assembly 29 is adjusted and fixed so that the light intensity center of the laser beam coincides with an objective lens 16 center. A screw is inserted into an attaching tap 27 from an attaching hole 28, and a shell cover 22 is temporarily fixed to the base substrate 20. Mechanical marks are provided on the outer periphery of a window part 23, and a central point of a mechanical system is displayed at the intersected point between straight lines linking the marks. This central point is made to coincide with the center of the objective lens 16, and the shell cover 22 is fixed to the base substrate 22.
