Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively configure a material output section, and to eliminate the need of action such as mirroring. SOLUTION: The material output section of a transmission server system is inexpensively constituted of a plurality of optical disk devices (recording and playback sections) 128-1 to 128-3. When transferring material constituting a program from a material server 121 to the material output section, the material is transferred and recorded in common into the transmission optical disk devices 128-1, 128-2. Even if one of the optical disk devices 128-1, 128-2 is broken, since the same material is recorded and backed up in the other device, the need of action such as mirroring is eliminated. The optical disk device 128-3 is for emergency use. The material that is transferred from the material server 121 to the material output section completely before program start can be output as material constituting the program by utilizing the emergency optical disk device 128-3. Further, the diagonoses in mechanical systems and servo systems 14-22 are executed by the first self-diagnosis (mode 1), and the diagnoses in the reproduction processing systems 2, 3, 5, 7, are executed by the second self-diagnosis (mode 2), and the diagnoses of the record processing systems 2, 3, 4, 5 are executed by the third self-diagnosis (mode 3).

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the reliability of recording data by adding and recording tracking data to a prescribed area other than a recording area, detecting the detection time difference of the tracking data reproduced from an adjacent recording track and correcting the deviation of tracking. CONSTITUTION:A data recorder control part 12 outputs second replenishment data PD2 from a replenishment data generation circuit 35 at the time of recording and adds them to the head of second recording data D6. A multiplexer 34 converts serial recording data into REC via a parallel/serial conversion circuit 37, supplies them to a data recorder 13 and records them on a magnetic tape 1. The data recorder control circuit 12 takes reproducing data PB reproduced from the recorder 13 at the time of reproducing into tracking information detection circuits 50A and 50B, detects the detection time of data DA and DB for each recording track and its detection time difference is detected in a comparison circuit 51. A system control cmrcuit 24 outputs a control signal to the data recorder 13 and corrects the deviation of tracking.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the rate of bit errors by unloading a magnetic tape after allowing it to travel up to a starting side or a finishing side by assigning an area other than of the starting and finishing sides of the magnetic tape to an area for recording data. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic tape 1 is wound on a drum, recording tracks are obliquely formed in sequence on the magnetic tape 1, desired input data WR is recorded on a recording track or the input data WR recorded on the magnetic tape 1 is regenerated. An area AREC other than the specified area of the starting and finishing sides of the magnetic tape 1 is assigned to the recording area of the input data WR, when a recording or a regenerating operation is finished, the magnetic tape 1 is travelled up to the specified area of the starting or the finishing side, then, a cassette tape is unloaded and taken out. Thus, the load on the recording area of the magnetic tape 1 is reduced and the rate of bit errors is improved.
