Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reflect other information than a color reproduction characteristic measured by a printer itself onto calibration of color reproduction. SOLUTION: A color transformation section 21 transforms document data (RGB signal) into print section input data (cmy signal) on the basis of a LUT from a transformation condition analysis section 25 in the case of usual print and outputs the transformed data to a print section 17. A colorimetry section 18 measures colors of a color calibration color chart to provide an output of colorimetric values (X, Y, Z) to a characteristic analysis section 23. The characteristic analysis section 23 generates print characteristic data including the LUT that transforms the cmy signal into relative colorimetric values (X', Y', Z') based on the measured values (X, Y, Z) from the colorimetry, section 18. A transformation condition analysis section 25 generates the LUT to transform the RGB signal into the cmy signal on the basis of the print characteristic data and the monitor characteristic data recorded in a color reproduction characteristic recording section 24 and gives the LUT to a color transformation section 21.

SOLUTION: The skin color extracting section 532b comprises sections 100-102 for shifting an input signal by a predetermined bits to the left (2 times) or right (1/2 time), sections 104, 106, 128, 200, 201 and 202 for adding two input signals, sections 113 and 203-205 for selecting any one of input signals based on a selection control signal from a system controller 6, comparing sections 207-210 for outputting 1 or 0 depending on the magnitude of the input signal, and AND sections 211-213 for taking logical product (AND) of the input signals. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly control color balance of an image signal imaged by a solid-state imaging element of an XY address scanning type. SOLUTION: A flicker detection section 42 integrates at least either of each color signal of a color image signal and a luminance signal obtained from the color image signal, over a time of one horizontal period or over, normalizes its integrated value or a difference between integral values corresponding to adjacent fields or frames, extracts a spectrum of a value after the normalization to estimate a flicker component on the basis of the spectrum. A parameter generation section 51 calculates an index for denoting a degree of probability whereby a photographing light source is estimated to be a fluorescent lamp on the basis of an estimated result of the flicker component, and an amplifier gain setting section 52 calculates a control variable of the color balance in response to the calculated index and sets the control variable to a WB adjustment section 41. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform control having less variation and stability even if the number of preset light sources is reduced, in automatic white balance processing for deciding a suitable preset control value from a plurality of previously set preset control values during photographing. SOLUTION: First, a plurality of presumed light sources having different spectrum distribution characteristics are presumed in advance, and white balance control values suitable for the presumed light sources are stored. Next, the similarity of each of the presumed light sources to a photographing light source is evaluated from a color image pickup signal by an unknown photographing light source acquired by performing sub-sampling, and the reliability of the evaluation is determined. Then, a white balance control value suitable for the photographing light source is calculated from the white balance evaluation values of the presumed light sources by one or more choices and weighting based on an evaluation result, and the calculated value is updated depending on the state of the reliability. White balance processing is applied to a color image pickup signal after the decision on the basis of the decided control value. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform printing by performing the setting of a printing image even in machinery connected by an interface conformed to an IEEE 1394 standard. SOLUTION: A CPU 23 forms printing control data including character printing image data showing the image processing content to a character at a time of printing and image printing image data showing the image processing content to an image at a time of printing and the image data and printing control data are contained in a packet conformed to an IEEE 1394 standard to be outputted to a printing apparatus 5 and controlled by a data converting part 13 so as to print the image data contained in the packet outputted to the printing apparatus 5 according to the printing control data to transmit and receive the packet between the machineries connected by an IEEE 1394 interface to print the image data. At this time, the image processing corresponding to the character printing image data and the image printing image data is applied to the image data on the side of the printing apparatus 5 to print a character or image.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a desired color reproduction by well utilizing a standard color space with expanded color gamuts. SOLUTION: In an image information transmitting method, an image file reading unit 51 reads a file of image data added with, by a specific code, information indicating a state that how the representations of colors and gradations of image data are adjusted, as information for reproducing the information of colors and gradations of image data encoded by a standard color space. On the basis of header information in a file header block, a judgement unit 52 selects image data of a suitable image block and selected suitable correction processing, correction processing is applied to image data by a correction processing unit 53, and a result thereof is temporarily stored in a memory (RAM). A monitor display unit 55 performs processing for displaying image data as a result of the correction. A printer output unit 56 performs processing for outputting and printing the image data as a result of the correction to a printer driver. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
