Abstract: An oscillator is provided with an oscillation circuit including two oscillation transistors (Q2,Q1), comprising a differential pair, and a resonance circuit (RSNa) connected in common to the bases of the oscillation transistors (Q2,Q1). The bases of the oscillation transistors (Q2,Q1) are short-circuited by a coil (L2), a center tap coil (L3) is connected in parallel to the resonance circuit (RSNa), and variable capacitance diodes (VC1,VC2) in the resonance circuit (RSNa) are driven by a coil (L4) connected to a mixing circuit (MIX). Due to this, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of low frequency noise, possible to realise a completely balanced operation, possible to avoid the oscillation carrier flowing into the power source and ground, and, when the oscillation circuit is used in a television tuner, possible to reduce the noise in a television picture.

Abstract: An RF modulator comprising an FM modulator (22) supplied with an audio signal, an AM modulator (24) supplied with the FM audio output and a video signal, an oscillator (32) for generating a sound subcarrier signal, and an oscillator (7) for generating a main carrier signal. Each of the oscillators (32, 17) consists of a VCO with a PLL circuit, and the entire components are composed of a single IC chip so as to be formed into a compact miniature structure. A modified RF modulator includes a PLL circuit (15) for varying the oscillation frequency of a VCO (17) by a variable frequency divider (18), and a modulation circuit supplied with a modulating signal and the oscillation output of the VCO (17). The division ratio (integer) of the variable frequency divider (18) is continuously varied, and the reference frequency of a reference oscillator (16) is set to be less than a predetermined channel interval frequency, thereby reducing the frequency error in the modulated signal output.

Abstract: The present invention provides a frequency modulation circuit which varies the resonance frequency of an LC resonance circuit (12), and which corresponds to the frequency modulation conversions of all TV standards with a simple constitution. A plurality of passive element series circuits (C10, R80; C11, R81; C12, R82) for varying the time constant of the LC resonance circuit (12) is composed of, for instance, a capacitor and a resistor, which is switched and controlled by connecting to or separating from the LC resonance circuit by switching means such as a transistor (Q81 - Q83). Thereby, the oscillation frequency of the LC resonance circuit can be easily converted to a predetermined frequency.
