Abstract: NPN transistors are differentially connected to each other. The signal output from the collector of a first NPN transistor is positively fed back to the base of a second NPN transistor via a first capacitor, and the signal output from the collector of the second NPN transistor is positively fed back to the base of the first NPN transistor via a second capacitor. A one-port-type SAW resonator is connected to the collectors of the NPN transistors via the capacitors for blocking the flow of direct current. Thus, it becomes possible to generate a high-frequency signal with a high degree of accuracy.

Abstract: An oscillator is provided with an oscillation circuit including two oscillation transistors (Q2,Q1), comprising a differential pair, and a resonance circuit (RSNa) connected in common to the bases of the oscillation transistors (Q2,Q1). The bases of the oscillation transistors (Q2,Q1) are short-circuited by a coil (L2), a center tap coil (L3) is connected in parallel to the resonance circuit (RSNa), and variable capacitance diodes (VC1,VC2) in the resonance circuit (RSNa) are driven by a coil (L4) connected to a mixing circuit (MIX). Due to this, it is possible to prevent the occurrence of low frequency noise, possible to realise a completely balanced operation, possible to avoid the oscillation carrier flowing into the power source and ground, and, when the oscillation circuit is used in a television tuner, possible to reduce the noise in a television picture.

When a control signal of the high level is inputted to a control terminal, then a first high frequency switch diode is turned on and a second high frequency switch diode is turned off. In this instance, a filter circuit functions as a low-pass filter. When a control signal of a low level is inputted to the control terminal, then the first high frequency switch diode is turned off and the second high frequency switch diode is turned on. In this instance, the filter circuit functions as a high-pass filter.
