    Abstract: PURPOSE:To raise the magnetic characteristics by forming the noncrystalline alloy- plated layer containing a given ratio of Co and P as the main components. CONSTITUTION:In the place of Fe-P noncrystalline alloy previously applied, a Co- P noncrystalline alloy-plated layer, containing 60-92atom% Co and 8-26atom% P as the main components, is obtained by an electric plating method using an acid plating bath consisting primarily of approx. 1/6-3mol/l of a divalent Co ion (e.g., cobalt sulfate, etc.) and approx. 0.03-0.3mol/l of hypophosphic acid and/or a hypophosphite (e.g., sodium hypophosphite, etc.). The conditions for plating includes pH1.2-2.2, a current density of 5-20A/dm , and a bath temperature of 30-60 deg.C, and also a stabilizer, e.g., L-ascorbic acid, etc., and a brightener, e.g., hydroquinolic acid, etc., are added to the plating system. Thus, a magnetostriction constant is made smaller and also magnetic permeability and coercive force are raised.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase quenching speed and improve roll life by using the material which causes plastic deformation under small pressure as a roll base material for at least one of a pair of rolls and providing a surface layer harder than the roll base material on the peripheral surface of the roll base material. CONSTITUTION:A hard plating layer 9 of chromium or rhodium is provided on the surface of roll ground 8 on the peripheral surface of at least one, e.g., roll 2, of rolls 1, 2. As a result of this, the recovery of rolling surface becomes possible through idling. To operate the device, first the sample made by an ordinary melting method is disintegrated and with this being held put in a nozzle 3, it is melted in a Siliconit furnace. Thence, the nozzle 3 is lowered right above between the rolls 1, 2 and high pressure gas such as Ar gas is blown to blow the molten sample 6 between the rolls 1, 2. The sample 6 is rolled and quenched and the foil-form amorphous alloy foil 7 having been rolled is led out between the rolls 1, 2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To manufacture the amorphous alloy foil with required breadth and thickness, by specifying the rolling pressure per unit breadth of the rolled product, when the rolled product is manufactured from the amorphous alloy mainly consisting of Fe, Co, etc., through a pair of rolls for rolling and rapid cooling. CONSTITUTION:The ground specimen of Fe, Co, etc., is held in the nozzle 3, and is molten, under this condition, in the Silicon it furnace; and then, the nozzle 3 is brought down to right above the midst point between rolls 1, 2, of the rolling and rapid cooling apparatus 10. Next, the high pressure gas of Ar, etc., is introduced into the nozzle 3 so as to eject the molten specimen 17 from the nozzle hole 9 into the arrowed direction 11 on purpose to rapidly cool and roll the specmen 17 under the following conditions by the rolls 1, 2; hereby, the foil type rolled specimen 7 is produced. The conditions stated above are as follows: Y>=C[X/(Tcry-T)] , where Y is the rolling pressure (t/cm) per unit breadth of the rolled product, X is the tickness mum of the rolled product, Tcry and T are respectively the crystallization temperature of the specimen and the roll temprature ( deg.C), and C=C1(R/15), in which R is the roll diameter cm, and C1=C0(A/2850) , whose C0 is a constant due to the Young's modulus and the thermal conductivity of the roll, and A is the rotational frequency (r.p.m.) of the roll.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide magnetic chip of prescribed shape quite simply, by a method wherein a thin plate or phosphor bronze is closely contacted with a thin film of copper, a planar magnetic layer of prescribed shape is formed, and then magnetic layer is separated from both thin plates. CONSTITUTION:When a rotary drum 1 is rotated, a thin plate 3 of phosphor bronze as a mask is closely contacted with a thin plate 2 of copper, and both thin plates 2, 3 as one body rotate together with the drum 1. In this state, a raw material 5 is solved in a solving furnace 7 and then a nozzle 6 is moved downward in the drum 1 and the solved material 5 is spouted to the thin plate 3. As a result, the material 5 is adhered to surface of the thin plate 3 and the thin plate 2 spouted to an opening 4 uniformly on account of centrifugal force by rotation of the drum 1 and at the same time cooled rapidly. Thereby the material 5 is made amorphous and the amorphous alloy layers 8, 9 are formed on the surface of the thin plates 3, 2. Since the alloy layer 9 is adhered in the opening 4 of the thin plate 3, it is formed in core chip. Consequently, when the thin plate 3 is separated from the thin plate 2 after finishing the operation, a number of amorphous alloy layers 9 of core chip form are obtained.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To obtain a high-permeability and high-magnetic flux density magnetic head, by polishing the surface of an amorphous alloy having a comparatively small positive magnetic distortion constant and by etching it. CONSTITUTION:An amorphous alloy having a comparatively small positive magnetic distortion constant such as the Co-system amorphous alloy is adjusted. Next, the surface of the obtained amorphous alloy is subjected to processings such as unidirectional polishing dependent upon the tape coated with an abrasive paper, minute- diameter alumina, and so on, thereby making an axis difficult to magnetize and an axis easy to magnetize in the polishing direction and the orthogonal direction respectively. Next, the processed surface is eliminated by etching by approximately 1.5mum or more to eliminate the processing distortion layer on the surface.

CONSTITUTION:The amorphous magnetic alloy consists of Ru; 2-20at%, one or more kinds of amorhism forming elements selected from P, C, Si, B and Ge; 10- 30%, and the balance almost iron. The addn. of Ru decreases the magnetostriction constant and this compsn improves the working resistance and toughness, thereby reducing a fluctuation in effective permeability before and after resin molding. This alloy can be rolled to stably manufacture tough straight foil.
