Switching means responsive to an opening movement of the liquid crystal display from a closed position is used to automatically and smoothly switch off the viewfinder, switch on the liquid crystal display and to enable a speaker. The liquid crystal display is also used as a cover for relatively infrequently used setting switches and controls.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a photographer to easily confirm an object while watching a large-sized display means and to enable many persons to see the reproduced picture in the place of photographing by providing a liquid crystal display means for picture display besides a view finder. CONSTITUTION:A video camera main body 2 which uses an internally loaded video tape to record and reproduce the picture of an object, a lens part 3 provided in the front of this main body 2, a sound collecting microphone 4, a battery 5 freely detachably set to the rear part or the main body 2, and an EVF (view finder) 6 where the reproduced picture of the video tape for confirmation of the picked-up image of the object is displayed and which is freely turnably attached for the purpose of watching this picture are provided. A freely open/ close large-sized color liquid crystal display device(LCD) 7 is provided on one side face of the main body 2. That is, this main body 2 is provided with the large-sized color LCD 7, on which the picture of the object and the reproduced picture of the video tape are selectively displayed, and is freely openably/ closably attached to the main body 2 through an open/close device 12 as an open/close means.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely prevent a load circuit from breaking down at the time of overvoltage through a simple arrangement.
SOLUTION: When an overvoltage is applied to a television receiver 100, a reverse current flows through a Zener diode 111 and when a voltage is applied to the gate G1 of an FET 113, a drain-source current flows from the drain D1 to the source S1 of the FET 113. As a result, a short circuit passage is formed of a DC power supply 2, a fuse 3, a DC-DC converter 4 and the FET 113, and a current larger than a rated current flows through the fuse 3. Since the fuse 3 is blown off without causing breakdown of the FET 113, an overvoltage is not applied to a signal processing IC 101, a video processing IC 102 and an audio processing IC 103, and thereby breakdown of the signal processing IC 101, the video processing IC 102 and the audio processing IC 103 can be surely prevented.
