Abstract:
An electronic money system and an electronic money terminal device, capable of arbitrarily determining a partial payment amount at each user's payment when an installment plan is used. Instead of drawing amount data of spent money amount from an information card (50), the amount data of a spent money amount is accumulated as installment plan history data, part or all of the accumulated installment plan balance is received as a partial payment amount, the received partial payment amount is deducted from an installment plan balance to determine a new balance, thereby the user can pay an arbitrary amount out of an installment plan balance as a partial payment amount.
Abstract:
An electronic money system includes a portable electronic device 50, such as a contactless IC card 50, which can store an amount of electronic money, and processing means which can process a balance due when the transaction amount exceeds the stored amount. In a preferred embodiment, the IC card includes a credit flag which indicates to the processing means whether credit is allowable. The IC card may also have other functions, such as an employee pass or an electronic key. The portable electronic device may be a mobile phone/computer or the like.
