    Abstract: The present invention provides an image display apparatus enabling to easily handle the thin glass plate and easily assemble the apparatus, thus increasing the production yield. The image display apparatus includes: a plasma cell having a plurality of discharge electrodes arranged at a predetermined interval and parallel to one another on one main surface of a first substrate, a dielectric thin plate arranged at a predetermined distance from the first substrate, and a seal portion for sealing the space between the first substrate and the dielectric thin plate; an electro-optical material layer; and a second substrate having on its opposing surface electrodes formed to extend approximately in the direction vertical to the discharge electrodes, the second substrate being placed via the electro-optical material layer over the dielectric thin plate. The dielectric thin plate is a layered body having at least a thin glass plate and a high-molecule polymer film which are bonded to each other. The layered body may further include an ultraviolet-ray shading film.

SOLUTION: The optical component 10 is a diaphragm which is incorporated into a photographing optical system such as a digital steel camera and digital video camera and is provided with a plurality of aperture blades 16 of changing aperture area. The sliding surfaces are both surfaces in the thickness direction of the aperture blade 16. The plurality of aperture blades 16 are formed of a thin plate-like synthetic resin which does not transmit light and are surface-modified according to a plasma ion implantation method. Accordingly, in the plurality of aperture blades 16, the surface hardness is enhanced, thereby, the friction coefficient of a sliding surface of each aperture blade 16 is lowered thereby reducing a sliding load.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an apparatus and a method in which a film having a desired film quality and a desired film thickness can be formed always stably, by a method wherein the intensity of a magnetic field generated on the surface of an object to-be-filmed is adjusted on the basis of a change in the crystal state of a detected film, the density of a plasma is controlled and the crystallization of a film to be deposited on the object to-be-filmed is promoted. SOLUTION: In a control part 11, the crystal state of SiO2 particles to be deposited on the surface of a glass substrate 4 is detected on the basis of scattered light in which an electron beam radiated from an electron beam source 27 is reflected on the surface of the glass substrate 4 so as to be fetched by a detector 28, and whether crystallization of a film progresses or not is judged. When a negative result is obtained, the control part 11 controls a variable cathode power supply 23 in order to promote crystallization of the film, and a reference voltage which is supplied to a coil 21 is raised by a prescribed level. Then, the control part 11 detects the crystal state of the SiO2 particles, and it continues the same treatment. As a result, a film which has a desired film quality and a desired film thickness can be formed always stably with a simple constitution.

SOLUTION: A plasma beam emitting section 21 is provided on an 'O' ring 6 with an ultraviolet ray leaking preventive layer 22 which is made by alternatively laminating highly refractive layers 22A made of an electrically conductive high refraction material such as TiO2 and low refractive layers 22B made of an electrically conductive low refraction material such as SiO2 . Then, a protective layer 24 is laminated on the layer 22 through an insulating layer 23 to constitute of a display 20. On the display 20, the ultraviolet rays, which are generated when plasma 13 is generated by the section 21, are successively attenuated by the light interference in the layers 22A and 22B of the layer 22. Thus, the leaking of the rays to the external is prevented.
