Abstract:
An information receiving method according to the present invention is one of receiving a district information transmitted at a predetermined frequency and then displaying a received district information, and includes a step of estimating a current location and then estimating whether a district information of an area to which the estimated current location pertains is contained in a received signal, and a step of performing, if it is estimated that the district information of the area to which the current location pertains is not contained, a process for changing the receiving frequency.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow one multiplex broadcast receiver to keep the newest data at all times as position-correction data and traffic information data by extracting newest data of the traffic information system and correction data. SOLUTION: A RAM 33 stores data, denoting a frequency at which DGPS correction data are broadcast and data denoting a frequency at which VICS data are broadcast. Data of frequencies of broadcast stations broadcasting DGPS correction data are read from the RAM 33, and the frequency data are fed to a reception circuit 22 through a port 34 to select broadcast stations broadcasting the DGPS correction data. Similarly the frequency data of the broadcast stations, broadcasting VICS data, are read from the RAM 33 and the broadcast stations are selected. Thus, even when the DGPS correction data and the VICS data are broadcast from different broadcast stations, both the data are received by one receiver 20.

PURPOSE:To clearly distinguish the difference in meaning of displays of plural mark points on the displayed map by synthesizing mapping data and the output data of a symbolic figure displaying means and displaying a specified symbolic figure on the designated position. CONSTITUTION:When a signal for marking the point to be stored is inputted from a key operation part 10, the coordinate data of the marked point are obtained by a symbol displaying part 12 i.e., the symbolic figure displaying means and a meaningful symbol for the marked point is selected by a symbol designating part 12b. The information is treated as a set and stored in a memory 12C. When this symbol is set previously on the map, the symbol data read from the memory 12C are supplied to a mark symbol displaying circuit 12d, the displaying circuit 12d matches the symbol with the marked point in the displaying region while discriminating whether the symbol is present within the selected region or not and forms a displaing screen composed of position information and the symbol significant for the marked point.
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide only necessary traffic information at specific time. CONSTITUTION:In a step S1, an automatic mode, a manual mode, or an all mode is decided. In the automatic mode, current time received from a GPS satellite in a step S2 is set to a variable T, but in the manual mode, on the other hand, optional time which is inputted with keys in step S3 is set. In the all mode, ALL is set to the variable T in a step S4. In steps S5 and S6, traffic control information is read out of a CD-ROM and a memory. In the automatic mode or manual mode, the traffic control information corresponding to the time set in the variable T is read out and displayed in a step S1O. In the all mode, traffic control information of all time zones is displayed.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device or the like allowing a user to efficiently search a predetermined point. SOLUTION: The navigation device includes a registration means for registering indexes designated by a user's operation and data on the coordinates of points while associating the indexes with the data, and a display means for displaying the plurality of registered indexes in a list. The display means displays, together with the list, an electronic map 202 of the coordinates of the point corresponding to an active index selected from among the indexes. COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation device capable of effectively displaying a detailed map and a wide-area map even when they are displayed on two screens. SOLUTION: The detailed map is displayed, for example, on a master screen P while the wide-area map having lower resolution than the detailed map is displayed on a slave screen C. The wide-area map displayed on the slave screen C covers areas similar to those displayed on the master screen P.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an emergency notifying device which grasps the location of an accurate emergency notifier, an emergency notifying method that is applied to the emergency notifying device and a automabile which is provided with the emergency notifying device. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a position measuring means 100 which measures the current position, a communicating means 112 which sends the present position information that is measured by the position measuring means to a preliminarily defined center through a prescribed communication line and a triggering means 111 which sends a trigger signal that starts the communicating means and notifies a self-current position and a present state to the preliminarily defined center at the time of emergency.
