Abstract:
This invention relates to a network control verification system, a control communication terminal, a server apparatus, and a network control verification method whereby a user away from a recording apparatus is notified of information such as whether the recording apparatus has completed unattended recording of a broadcast program as reserved. Specifically, a recording/reproducing apparatus 4 records a broadcast program to a recording medium in accordance with unattended recording reservation settings. The apparatus 4 extracts one picture frame from the pictures recorded on the recording medium and turns the extracted frame into a thumbnail image. The recording/reproducing apparatus 4 then transmits an e-mail including a recording start date, a recording start time, a recording stop time, a broadcast channel, and a recording mode regarding the recorded broadcast program to a mobile phone 53 together with an attachment of the thumbnail. By checking the e-mail sent to the mobile phone 53, the user can verify that the recording has been completed as reserved. This invention may be applied advantageously to networked electronic apparatuses.

In an information-processing system shown in FIG. 1, a server (106) for delivering remote-operation control information in accordance with an audio/video instrument (110) and an information-processing apparatus (103) with a remote-operation screen display function for remote-controlling the audio/video instrument (110) based on control information acquired from this server (106) are connected to each other through the Internet (105) etc. The information-processing apparatus (103) makes a request to the server (106) to deliver the remote-operation control information in accordance with this audio/video instrument (110) and, based on the control information delivered from the server (106) owing to this delivery request, performs display processing of a remote-operation screen and, based on remote-operation information input by operations on the remote-operation screen, remote-controls the audio/video instrument (110).

An information processing apparatus improving operationality. In an information processing apparatus through which a TV program can be viewed and heard and which can be connected to the Internet, on an index panel (1) for selecting various functions, a channel button (2) is displayed for operating when selecting a program to be viewed and heard. Moreover, on the index panel (1), together with the channel button (2), there are displayed a site button (71) operated when accessing site A on the Internet and a site button (72) operated when accessing site B . The present invention can be applied to an information processing apparatus such as a personal computer through which a TV program can be viewed and heard and which can be connected to the Internet.

A system comprising a monitor device provided with a display and driven by a battery, and a base device for sending image information to the monitor device, wherein a monitor device-driving battery can be recharged without requiring any special recharging device. The monitor device has a battery mounted to the back thereof, houses a stand, and has a groove formed in the bottom surface thereof, a recharging terminal being provided in this groove. The base device has a holding rail formed at the lower front portion thereof and has a recharging terminal provided at this holding rail. When recharging the battery, the stand is housed in a stand housing groove, and the monitor device is leaned against the front portion of the base device so as to insert the holding rail of the base device into the monitor device's bottom groove. The back of a battery cover is formed with a rib that presses the battery toward a battery mounting unit on one end side of a battery housing groove.

A transmission/reception apparatus enabling a high-speed processing and a high extensibility when performing a communication protocol processing. In the transmission/reception apparatus transmitting/receiving data according to a predetermined communication protocol, the communication protocol processing is constituted so as to be able to be executed by both of hardware (a first and a second communication protocol processor) and software (a first and a second controller). Thus, for example, the data whose processing load is heavy is processed at a high speed by executing a communication protocol processing by hardware and the data whose processing load is light is processed by software having a high extensibility. That is, hardware and software are used depending on the data type.

A television reception system is disclosed by which a television broadcasting program can be enjoyed at any place in a home without being influenced by connection to an antenna cable or a communication circuit and which can be connected to a network such as the Internet. A channel selection apparatus and a display apparatus are formed as separate apparatus from each other. The channel selection apparatus receives broadcasting signals, selects one of the broadcasting signals, forms a transmission signal from the selected broadcasting signal and transmits the transmission signal by radio. The radio signal from the channel selection apparatus is received by the display apparatus, and an image based on an image signal of the received signal is displayed on an LCD apparatus serving as a display element.
