Abstract:
In a system in which an IEEE1394 interface is provided for an integrated receiver decoder (IRD), connected equipment can be easily selected and the operability is improved. Data can be transmitted among the equipment. For example, five equipment (15A,15B,15C, etc.) may be selected from the equipment connected to the IEEE1394 interface and node ID numbers are allocated to the five equipment and registered. Thus, even if the equipment is removed from the interface and connected again, the IRD (1) can recognize the equipment. Further, a number of equipment are not arranged on the list display of the connected equipment and desired equipment can be easily selected. Among the equipment physically connected to the interface, the five equipment which were connected early are automatically registered. The registration can be easily changed by a user input. When the registration is changed, the change of the registration is inhibited among the equipment in which the program reservation has been set or the connected equipment. Thus, even if the registration is changed, an erroneous operation does not occur.
Abstract:
IN A SYSTEM IN WHICH AN INTERFACE (44) OF IEEE1394 IS PROVIDED FOR AN IRD (1), CONNECTED EQUIPMENT CAN BE EASILY SELECTED AND THE OPERABILITY IS IMPROVED. DATA CAN BE TRANSMITTED AMONG THE EQUIPMENT BY PROVIDING THE INTERFACE (44) OF IEEE1394 FOR THE IRD (1). FOR EXAMPLE, FIVE EQUIPMENT (15A,15B,15C,15D,15E) ARE SELECTED FROM THE EQUIPMENT CONNECTED TO THE INTERFACE (44) OF IEEE1394 AND NODE ID NUMBERS ARE ALLOCATED TO THE FIVE EQUIPMENT AND REGISTERED. THUS, EVEN IF THE EQUIPMENT IS REMOVED FROM THE INTERFACE (44) AND CONNECTED AGAIN, THE IRD (1) CAN RECOGNIZE THE EQUIPMENT. FURTHER, A NUMBER OF EQUIPMENT ARE NOT ARRANGED ON THE LIST DISPLAY OF THE CONNECTED EQUIPMENT, AND DESIRED EQUIPMENT CAN BE EASILY SELECTED. AMONG THE EQUIPMENT PHYSICALLY CONNECTED TO THE INTERFACE (44), THE FIVE EQUIPMENT WHICH WERE CONNECTED EARLY ARE AUTOMATICALLY REGISTERED.
Abstract:
The camera is equipped to reverse the direction of its moving focus lens (1) if appropriate focusing evaluation data is not obtained within a certain period of time after an intermediate point is detected during the focus lens movement in one direction. This eliminates the redundant operation of the focus lens moving away from the just-focus point all the way to the extreme of the current direction before heading back to the just-focus point during an auto focus operation. An efficient auto focus operation is thus achieved. In addition, control means (10) are provided for not using a decrease in accumulated data as auto focus control information if that decrease is judged to be an abrupt drop from the accumulated data obtained in the immediately preceding focus lens position. This makes it possible to prevent the focus lens (1) from being erroneously focused in cases of panning and other focus-disrupting operations. In this manner, the photographing of high quality is always made available.
Abstract:
It is judged before recording programming whether analog copy is inhibited or digital copy is inhibited from information on DM_copy_control_description and information on CGMS or M-CGMS. If analog copy is inhibited, analog programmed recording is made nonselectable by using a video mouse; and if digital copy is inhibited, digital programmed recording conforming to the IEEE1394 is made impossible. When digital copy or analog copy is inhibited, a warning to the effect is indicated. Before a programmed recording starts, if the output of an IRD is being recorded by another device, if an MD synchronous recording is being performed, if the recording device is in operation, if no tape or no disk is loaded, if the tape or disk is inhibited from being recorded, if the recording mode of the recording device is an analog recording mode, or if the object is a record inhibited part of a smart file, an indication to the effect is made and the programmed recording is canceled.
Abstract:
An apparatus capable of performing both analog recording/reproducing and digital recording/reproducing on/from the same video tape, which issues an alarm if a tape cassette containing a tape on which video is recorded in analog form is loaded to reproduce the video. Further the apparatus issues an alarm if a tape cassette containing a tape on which transport streams of different specifications or digital signals of a recording method other than the MPEG2 method are recorded is loaded to reproduce them. The apparatus reads information about the recording method of the program which the user wants to view referring to the smart file image. If the program to be reproduced is recorded in digital form, the apparatus changes its input to the digital video input; and if the program is recorded in analog form, the apparatus changes its input to the analog video input.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus in a bus system consisting of electronic devices and one or more information processing apparatus to control the electronic devices. The apparatus includes a storage means for storing management information of control software elements for controlling the electronic devices; an acquisition means for acquiring a change of the connection state of each electronic device to a bus constituting the bus system; and an execution means for executing assignment of the control software element, which is used for controlling the electronic device relevant to the acquired change of the connection state, on the basis of the connection state change acquired by the acquisition means. The acquisition means further serves to acquire device attribute information relative to the electronic devices, and the execution means makes a decision, on the basis of such device attribute information, as to whether the electronic device is the one controllable by the information processing apparatus and executes the assignment in accordance with the result of such a decision as well. In this apparatus, the routine of assigning the control software elements can be completed fast.
