Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To transmit information on a plurality of devices to a certain device at the same time or to transmit information on the device to a plurality of the devices without causing increase in communication quantity and delay in the response between a plurality of the devices through a serial bus such as an IEEE 1394 bus. SOLUTION: A tuner 1, a CD player 2, an MD player 3, and display devices 4, 5 are interconnected by an IEEE 1394 bus. A display data transmission channel Cd shared in common by the devices 1-5 is assigned to a timing of isochronous communication. The tuner 1, the CD player 2, and the MD player 3 transmits display data of them to the IEEE 1394 bus by using the channel Cd. The display devices 4, 5 receive the data required respectively for them among the display data sent to the IEEE 1394 bus and display information required for them. In addition to the display information, the devices 1-5 transmits data such as time information and positioning information by the same method as above.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To set whether a piece of music is the desired piece of music or not to a device through simple operation for a user to once press a key while listening to that piece of music during the driving of a car or the like, and to automatically perform reproduction according to that setting through the device later. SOLUTION: When a certain piece of music is selected, a CPU judges whether the selected piece of music is a piece of music set as the unwanted piece of music or not while referring to a storage part in a step 11. When the selected piece of music is a piece of music which is not set as the unwanted piece of music, the reproduction of that piece of music is started in a step 12, next, it is judged in a step 13 whether a button for setting the unwanted piece of music is pressed during the reproduction of that piece of music or not. When the user listens to that piece of music while driving the car or the like and does not want to listen to that piece of music, the button for setting the unwanted piece of music is pressed. The CPU detects that operation in the step 13, sets and registers that piece of music as the unwanted piece of music for the user in the storage part, the reproduction of that piece of music is stopped in a step 15 and the next piece of music is selected in a step 16.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a communication method by which variation of connected state or topology of each equipment constituting a communication system can be detected, and in addition, the detected variation can be informed to a user in an easily recognizable form. SOLUTION: In a communication method, node unique IDs of all equipment existing on a communication system and the information on each equipment are acquired by inquiry when bus resetting occurs. Then the acquired node unique IDs and the information on each equipment are stored in a prescribed memory by correlating the information with the IDs, and topology information is prepared by performing topology analysis. In addition, the topology information is stored in the prescribed memory by correlating the information with the node unique IDs and information on each equipment. Moreover, whether or not there is variation in stored information is decided by comparing each information already stored by system resetting or preceding bus resetting with each information stored this time, and processing is performed corresponding to obtained decided results.

In the case of sending a frame 3, the reception buffer 24A stores the frame 3, in which lateral direction error of the frame 3 is corrected and product code error in the frame 2 having been stored in the reception buffer 24B is corrected.
