Abstract: A disc cartridge loading device for loading a disc cartridge onto a disc drive device includes a retention lever having an engaging portion engaging a recess of the disc cartridge and mounted on a cartridge holder for rotation and movement in the disc cartridge inserting-discharging direction, a spring for biasing the retention lever into rotation in a direction of engagement of the engaging portion with the recess and also into movement in the disc cartridge inserting direction, and an engagement releasing mechanism for rotating the retention lever for releasing the engagement of the engaging portion with the recess up on movement of the retention lever in the disc cartridge discharging direction for halting the disc cartridge at a predetermined position during ejection of the disc cartridge.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To drive a magnetic disk having variation in the moment of inertia at high speed with only a power source supplied from a host. SOLUTION: An FD device (USBFDD) 10 is connected to a host computer 1 with a USB cable 1, and receives the power source supplied from the host and operated. The FD device 10 detects the drive current of a spindle motor (SPM) 16 when it is driven at a quadruple speed, and compares it with a threshold value. When the drive current is the threshold value or less, an SPM control part 14 controls the SPM 16 with same rotation speed, and when the drive current exceeds the threshold value, the moment of inertia is discriminated to be large, and the SPM 16 is switched to double speed control. Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable meeting to a plurality of kinds of floppy disk cartridge of different sizes, by detecting whether an inserted disk cartridge is a first or a second cartridge, and controlling a revolution number of a disk based on the detection result. SOLUTION: When a large capacity floppy disk cartridge 10 is inserted in a floppy disk apparatus 20, a cartridge detection switch 50 of a cartridge holder is turned ON. In consequence, a revolution number control signal corresponding to a disk 12 of the cartridge 10 is sent from a motor servo drive circuit 51 to a spindle motor 52, whereby a revolution number of the motor 52 is changed. The disk 12 in the cartridge 10 is rotated at 3000rpm. When a 3.5-inch floppy disk cartridge 1 is inserted, the switch 50 is not turned ON and a revolution number control signal corresponding to the 3.5-inch floppy disk cartridge is sent out from the motor servo drive circuit 51 to the motor 52. A disk 3 of the 3.5-inch floppy disk cartridge 1 is accordingly rotated at 300rpm.

SOLUTION: A depth of a cartridge holder 23 is selected to match a 3.5-inch floppy disk cartridge 24 in the floppy disk apparatus. At the same time, a cartridge entrance/exit 21A of a front panel 21 is formed to become larger in a downward direction. In this case, even when a large capacity floppy disk cartridge is used as the floppy disk cartridge 24, the floppy disk cartridge 24 can be surely loaded in a predetermined state. Therefore, the apparatus copes with a plurality of kinds of floppy disks of different sizes with good ease of operation.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable to mount a part whose height is limited by partially forming a recessed section with a bottom whose thickness is thinner than other sections so as to mount the part. CONSTITUTION:A parts mounting board 1 is made of paper with a thickness T1, has a rectangular shape and recessed section with bottoms 1a and 1b are provided by partially adding pressure and compression. A thickness T2 of the sections 1a and 1b is one half of the thickness T1, a spindle motor 4 is placed at the section 1a and a part 5, which has a height limit, is mounted in the section 1b. Moreover, a rotor magnet 11 is provided with a rotation driving magnet section 13 and an FG detecting magnet section 14, the magnet 11 is mounted to the bottom end of a rotating shaft 6 of a turntable 3 in a rotation free manner facing the section 1a of the board 1. Thus, air gaps beta of the magnet 11, the stator 12 and FG detecting patterns become thinner at the section 1a and the performance of the motor 4 and the output of an amplifier are improved. Moreover, the mounting position is lowered at the section 1b so that a part whose height is larger is mounted on the board 1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the control accuracy of a head position by coarsely operating a head carriage with a coarse operating motor and causing the turn supporting point of a turn lever to be freely movable with a head moving device which displaces and finely operates a lead screw by the turning of the turn lever. CONSTITUTION:A head carriage 66 supports a head 70' for recording and reproducing and the carriage 66 is freely movable in a linear direction. A lead screw 33 is engaged with the carriage 66 and revolved by a motor 29 for coarse operation. A turn lever 41 is abutted with one edge part 33a of the screw 33 and turned by a fine operating mechanism 58, which is composed of an electro- striction effect element, and the screw 33 is displaced in an axial direction. Thus, the carriage 66 is finely operated. Then, a turn supporting point part 55 of the lever 41 is made freely movable. Thus, out of the lever 41, a part 41a, to which one edge of the screw 33 is abutted, prevents the screw 33 from moving in a direction to cross the axial direction and the screw is finely operated smoothly in the axial direction.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To attain the head position control of high accuracy by interposing an electro-striction effect element between the other turning edge part of a turning lever and a chassis, impressing a voltage to this electro-striction effect element, changing the length of the element and finely turning the turning lever. CONSTITUTION:An electro-striction effect element 58 for fine motion is equipped. Then, one edge of the element is linked with the other turning edge part of a turning lever 41 and the other edge part is linked to a chassis 9. Then, since a red screw 33 is revolved by a motor 29 for coarse motion, a head carriage 66 is finely operated. Since the voltage is impressed to the electro-striction effect element 58, the length of this electro-striction effect element 58 is changed and the turning lever 41 is turned. Then, the lead screw 33 is displaced in an axial direction, the head carriage 66 is finely moved. Thus, high speed following ability is made satisfactory and the head position control of the high accuracy to be resistant to oscillation or impulse.
