For example, in a step S2: S0a, the processing is not shifted to the initial state (S0) until the reception of the arbitration signal of RX-SELF-GRANT at a port connected to the master node is finished even when a port receiving the SELF-ID packet is idle after a port receiving the SELF-ID packet from the slave node is finished.

The signal i1 is received preferentially to the signal i2 by the circuit 17 to control the object 8 with the 1st servo information. Thus, the tracking control and focus control can surely be performed.

An RF circuit 10 extracts an RF signal corresponding to data out of the signal outputted from the head 3, and it is decoded by a decoder 11 and is outputted to a controller 12. The controller 12 controls the access state in accordance with the error signal to switch a sampling timer 15 so that the sampling period of the converter 5 in the recording/reproducing or erase mode is shorter than that in the other modes. Thus, this device quickly copes with abnormality.
