Abstract: A processing unit performs a method including controlling a reading-out of data from a first storage medium at a predetermined read-out data rate to produce inputted data, and controlling a compression of the inputted data to produce first compressed data of a first compressed format. The method includes controlling a storage of the first compressed data in a second storage medium at a faster writing data rate than the predetermined read-out data rate, controlling a reading-out of second compressed data of a second compressed format from the second storage medium, and controlling a decompression of the second compressed data to produce decompressed data. The method also includes controlling simultaneously the storage of the first compressed data in the second storage medium, the reading-out of the second compressed data from the second storage medium, and audibly reproducing the decompressed data. The first compressed format is different from the second compressed format.

Abstract: An information processing apparatus and method enabling users to easily upgrade a control program. In step S501, a storage area is decided to store firmware which has been upgraded. In step S502, firmware which has been upgraded is provided. In step S503, the firmware provided is decrypted and again encrypted. In step S504, the firmware which has been re-encrypted is written into the storage area decided in step S501. In step S505, a maximum marker is picked up. In step S506, 1 is added to the marker and the resultant value is used as a maker corresponding to the storage area where the firmware has been stored in step S504. The present invention can be applied, for example, to an audio data server.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve ease of handling and the preservable property of a toner by holding a developer formed by dispersing a coloring agent into an electrical insulating org. material which is solid at ordinary temp. and makes a solid-liquid change by heating and cooling on a base body. CONSTITUTION:The developer 2 formed by dispersing the coloring agent in the electrical insulating org. material which is solid at ordinary temp. and makes solid-liquid change by heating and cooling is held on the base body 1. This developer 2 functions as a wet process developer when the developer is brought into contact with an electrostatic latent image in a heated state. In addition, the developer is handled in the form of a sheet, tape, etc., like a sublimation type ink film sheet, etc. Certain color mixing preventive layers 4 may be provided between the respective developer 2 regions in order to prevent the color mixing between the respective developers 2 particularly when the developers are made into a liquid state by heating.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a stable image by heating and liquifying developer obtained by dispersing a colorant in an electrical insulating organic matter that is solid at room temperature, and developing an electrostatic latent image by the liquified developer in wet fashion. CONSTITUTION:The developer is employed which is obtained by uniformly dispersing the colorant 6 in the electrical insulating organic matter that is solid at room temperature. When the developer for an electrostatic latent image is used, it is maintained in a fused condition by a heating means 7. If a photosensitive base material 1 on which an electrostatic latent image is formed comes into contact with the fused developer, the developer selectively adheres to form the image as its electric charges guide. Since the developer is normally solid apart from when it is used, it is excellent in operability and preservation. Accordingly, its maintenance is easy and a stable image can be formed constantly.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve ease of handling by holding a developer formed by dispersing a coloring agent into an electrical insulating org. material which is solid at ordinary temp. and makes a solid-liquid change by heating and cooling on a base body having an electrical conductivity. CONSTITUTION:The developer 2 formed by dispersing the coloring agent in the electrical insulating org. material which is solid at least at ordinary temp. and makes solid-liquid change by heating and cooling is held on the base body 1 having the electrical conductivity. This developer 2, therefore, functions as a wet process developer when the developer is brought into contact with an electrostatic latent image in a heated state. The ratio of the coloring agent is preferably 0.01-100g, more preferably 0.1-10g per 1l molten state of the electrical insulating org. material. The formation of the developer to a sheet or tape form is possible in this way and the ease of handling the developer is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enhance electric charges of colorant particles after electrostatic charging by using a colorant surface-coated with a metal oxide as a colorant to be dispersed in an electric insulating liq. carrier. CONSTITUTION:When the colorant and an electric charge providing agent are dispersed in the electric insulating liq. carrier to obtain a liq. developer, the surface of the colorant is coated with one or more kinds of metal oxides such as SiO2 or Al2O3. The pref. amt. of the metal oxides used is 0.001-10pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. colorant. The colorant may be a chrome pigment, Hansa Yellow or carbon black. Electric charges of the colorant after electrostatic charging are enhanced.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To improve the electrostatic charge of a coloring agent and to provide the higher speed of development and the higher grade of an image by adding fine particles of metal oxides further to a liquid developer prepd. by dispersing the coloring agent into a carrier liquid having an electrical insulating characteristic. CONSTITUTION:The coloring agent is dispersed into the carrier liquid having the electrical insulating characteristic and the fine particles of the metal oxides are added thereto. The fine particles of the metal oxides essentially consisting of SiO2, Al2O3, PbO2, MgO, etc., and the metal oxide mixture composed thereof are usable as the fine particles of the metal oxides. The high-grade image having high resolution are thereby formed and the sufficient coloring density is obtd. even by high-speed development. The collapse of the image, etc., arising from the flow of the coloring agent particles in the development process are thus prevented.
