Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a color selection mechanism body in which generating of a welding sputtering can be suppressed, and to raise quality stability of a CRT. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the color selection mechanism body 3 in which an edge part of an electrode element body 11 that is a thin metal sheet having slits of a shape of a reed screen, is pressed against a flame 9, frame side electrodes 21a, 21b are connected to the frame 9, and the electrode element body 11 and the frame 9 are seam-welded while rotating disk-like welding electrodes 17a, 17b along the edge of the electrode element body 11, the disk-like welding electrodes 17a, 17b are made to be at a cathode side, and at same time the frame electrodes 21a, 21b are made to be at an anode side to control a welding current so as to flow from the frame 9 to the electrode element body 11.
