    Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect and discriminate the abnormality of the operation state and to take a countermeasure like tap coefficient update stop in accordance with the result by comparing an input signal or an output signal for an adaptive control part with a prescribed reference value or comparing signals in inter- channel corresponding parts of plural channels. CONSTITUTION:An input value discriminating circuit 31 is inserted to the way of the input signal line from a detection characteristic circuit 13 to an adaptive control part 17, and an error signal discriminating circuit 32 is inserted to the way of the error signal line from an adder 16 as an error detector to the control part 17, and a tap coefficient value discriminating circuit 33 is inserted to the way of the tap coefficient signal line from the control part 17 to a digital filter 14. The occurrence of the abnormal state like dropout, noise, or burst error during the reproducing operation is detected by these circuits 31 to 33, and coefficient update is so limited that the tap coefficient is not an abnormal value.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To add a picture processing function to the reproducing device without cost increase and increase in the hardware. CONSTITUTION:The characteristic of a reproducing signal from a magnetic head 11 is compensated 5 a filter 14 being an equalizer and decoded by a decoding circuit 15. An adaptive control function section 17 adjusts (corrects) the characteristic of the filter to be optimum based on a decoding error (residual error) in the decoding circuit 15 and an input to the filter 14. After video signal processing or the like is applied to a signal from the decoding circuit 15, the result is fed to a picture processing detector section 21 for printing a still picture, in which color correction and edge emphasis or the like are implemented to the signal. The adaptive control function section 17 and a picture processing function section 21 are realized by using one and same hardware 20 so as to execute the respective algorithm.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To miniaturize the structure of circuits and to reduce a cost by executing adaptive treatment in time division with a filter and an adaptive control part. CONSTITUTION:Reproduced signals from magnetic heads 1A and 1B are arranged in one system through a changeover switch 9 and a reproducing property is compensated by a filter 4 being an equalizer, and thereafter, a demodulating circuit 5 demodulates the signals. The adaptive control part 7 adjusts (corrects) the property of the filter 4 to an optimum value based on a decoding error (residual) in a decoder circuit 5 and an input to the filter 4. The adaptive control part 7 executes the adaptive treatment at every reproduced signal of respective magnetic heads 1A and 1B time divisionally in accordance with a changeover switching pulse SP1 from a terminal 8 and sends filter factors for respective magnetic heads 1A and 1B to the filter 4.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To extract a proper synchronous code even if the synchronous code cannot be detected or is detected erroneously by pattern coincidence detection. CONSTITUTION:The parallel data which are shifted to a normal alignment by a parallel shifter 4 is input to a second pattern coincident circuit 5 and the pattern of two synchronous code bytes is detected. Then, a first synchronous pulse is output to a state machine 8 at a timing when the coincidence is detected and a coincidence flag is output to a gate circuit 6. The gate 6 opens when a state machine 8 is in search mode and then resets a fly wheel counter 7. The fly wheel counter 7 supplies a second synchronous pulse with the cycle of synchronous code to the state machine 8. The state machine 8 outputs the OR of the first and second synchronous pulses as a third synchronous pulse and then outputs a signal indicating the validity of the third synchronous pulse according to the coincidence/non-coincidence of the timing.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To form a decoding circuit by means of a calculation circuit having a low operation frequency by detecting the transition of input data based on an addition/subtraction result and updating probability data with the addition/ subtraction result. CONSTITUTION:After a certain threshold data TH2 are added/subtracted to/from a preliminarily input data in an addition circuit 20 and a subtraction circuit 18, the output data of the addition circuit 20 and subtraction circuit 18 is subtracted from probability data DELTAk-1 and the subtraction results M+ and M-are detected. The output data of the addition circuit 20 and subtraction circuit 18 are selectively outputted based on the subtraction results M+ and M-, the output data are selectively taken in based on the subtraction results M+ and M-, and the probability data DELTAk-1 are updated. Thus, the updating processing of the probability data DELTAk-1 and the subtraction results M+ and M- can be separately processed and so, the input data yk can be processed at a shorter period so far.
