Abstract: An optical recording medium capable of realizing high density and reliability in a recording/reproducing operation and facilitating the process which is performed by a drive apparatus is provided. The amplitude of an amount of wobbling of a track is made to be 10 nm to 15 nm and a track pitch of the track is made to be 0.74 µm to 0.82 µm. These values enable large-capacity recording to be realised and the recording/reproducing performance to be prevented from being deteriorated. As administration information, recommended information for a recording/reproducing operation at an inner peripheral position and an outer peripheral position is recorded. The size of data in a linking section is made to be the same as a sector for constituting a data block.

DURING THE RECORDING OF THE FIRST SIGNAL, THE POINTS OF TRANSITION OF THE FIRST SIGNAL ARE POSITIONED SO AS TO BE SPACED APART FROM, AND THEREFORE UNAFFECTED BY, THE POINTS OF TRANSITION OF THE SECOND SIGNAL. ALSO, BY INCLUDING A CLOCK SYNCHRONISATION SIGNAL IN THE FIRST SIGNAL, PLL CAPTURE MAY BE ACHIEVED ACCURATELY IN A SHORTER TIME. IN ADDITION, THE UNIT OF PHASE SHIFT BETWEEN THE CHANNEL CLOCK OF THE FIRST SIGNAL AND THE CHANCEL CLOCK OF THE SECOND SIGNAL IS SET TO BE SHORTER THAN THE CHANNEL CLOCK BIT. A DATA RECORDING METHOD AND AN OPTICAL DATA RECORDING METHOD ARE ALSO PROVIDED, WHICH MAY BE SUITABLE APPLIED TO A MAGNETO-OPTICAL DISC OR THE LIKE. THE DATA ARE PREVIOUSLY MODULATED BY A MODULATION SYSTEM SATISFYING A PREDETERMINED RULE OF MODULATION AND INCLUDE CONNECTION BITS BETWEEN ADJACENT UNITS OF THE MODULATED DATA BY WAY OF FURTHER MODULATION. CONTROL INFORMATION IS RECORDED BY OFFSETTING THE TRACK UNITS OF THE MODULATED DATA BY WAY OF FURTHER MODULATION. CONTROL INFORMATION IS RECORDED BY OFFSETTING THE TRACK ALONG ITS WIDTH, WHILE THE POINTS OF TRANSITION OF THE TRACK ALONG ITS WIDTH COINCIDE WITH THE RECORDING REGION FOR THE CONNECTING BITS, SINCE THE LATER ARE NOT PART OF THE MAIN SIGNAL INFORMATION.

Only the BCA data of 16 bytes and the parities of the former 16 bytes of the 32-byte parities, 1C that is, a total of 32 bytes only, are recorded in a burst cutting area of an optical disc. In decoding, error correction processing is carried out by using the fixed data of 200 bytes. The unrecorded parities of 16 bytes are processed as having been erased. Abstract: With the disc-shaped recording medium, or the disc manufacturing method according to the present invention, for both the single-layer disc and the multi-layer disc, a recording layer L 0 , which is to be the first layer, is at the same distance, along the direction of disc thickness, from the surface of the cover layer CVLs on which falls the laser light. For the multi-layer disc, the second layer L 1 and the following layer(s) are formed at the locations which are closer to the cover layer CVLs than the first layer L 0 . Management information may be recorded by mobbling grooves, each layermay have tert areas, defect information, a replacement area. Thus, it is possible to improve compatibility, reliability and accessibility between a single-layer disc and a multi-layer disc. The spherical aberration for the recording/reproducing light may be controlled with respect to the selected layer.

En la etapa S3, la unidad de oscilacion forma, sobre el disco optico, una ranura espiral oscilada de manera adaptable para la senal de modulacion MSK suministrada desde el modulador: En este disco optico, puede accesarse rapida y precisamente una direccion determinada.
