Abstract: PURPOSE:To comprehend the contents of subtitles in english even if one is not well versed in english. CONSTITUTION:A video signal corresponding to english subtitle broadcasting, for example, received by a TV turner 26 is supplied through an AV switcher 27 to a signal processing IC 30. At the signal processing IC 30, a subtitle signal contained in the video signal is supplied through a TV microcomputer 23 to a translation microcomputer 37. At the translation microcomputer 37, the english subtitles are translated into Japanese subtitles and outputted through the TV microcomputer 23, OSD 25 for TV, OSD processing part 34 and converting part 36 to a CRT 35. Thus, the japanese subtitles are displayed on the CRT 35.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To decide the picture quality in such a way that is equivalent to the visual check of an expert by deciding the quality of images based on a prescribed TV signal produced by a TV signal generator and the detection signal of the video state of a receiver screen. CONSTITUTION: A TV signal generator 4 contains the signal generators for VHF, UHF, CATV, BS and CS channels respectively. Then the generator 4 divides the screen of a TV receiver, for example, into plural areas to produce a color test pattern that includes each of divided areas shown in a prescribed color and outputs a TV signal to display this color test pattern. A color sensor 8 includes the color sensor elements arrayed in accordance with a prescribed color test pattern on one of both sides of a rectangular sheet of a size approximately equal to the screen of a CRT display 15. This sheet is attached on the surface of the display 15 in the check and evaluation modes. Then the color of every area of the color test pattern is detected, and the coincidence is decided between the transmitted color test pattern and a color detection pattern based on the color detection signal.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a radio communication system which can control the radio signal outputted from a transmitting device in accordance with the distance between the transmitting device and a receiving device. CONSTITUTION:A receiving device 2 connected by radio to a transmitting device 1 is provided with a level detecting circuit 15 which detects the receiving level of the radio signal sent from the device 1, a microcomputer 17 which outputs a level confirming signal to the device 1 in accordance with the detecting level of the circuit 15, a transistor 20, and an LED 18. Meanwhile the device 1 is provided with a PD 8 which receives the level confirming signal from the device 2 and controls the radio signal outputted to the device 2 in accordance with the level confirming signal, a photodetecting amplifier 10, a microcomputer 3, a transistor 7, and an LED 6. In such a constitution, the optimum radio signal is outputted from the device 1 in accordance with the distance between both devices 1 and 2. Then the communication reliability is improved and the lifetime of a battery is increased with its effective application. Furthermore the radio interference is also prevented.

When the execution of the automatic signal generation program is started, the CPU 1 stores the wait time inputted from a keyboard 2 in its memory and then reads the frequency data corresponding to the inputted channel number out of a correspondence table to output them to a general-purpose interface bus 3. When the wait time elapsed, the CPU 1 outputs a remote control code corresponding to the relevant channel to a remote control signal generation part 5 and also outputs the TV signals through the part 4.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control processor for accurately measuring clock frequencies in a short time without interrupting miniaturization or low costs. SOLUTION: This processor is provided with a normal operation mode and a frequency measurement mode. In this frequency measuring mode, a dimmer control terminal IOT1 originally assigned to a dimmer control signal 54 for controlling the brightness of the back light of a liquid crystal display screen is temporarily used as the output of a 1/n frequency-division signal 53 outputted from a programmable frequency-divider 24. Thus, it is not necessary to especially provide any terminal pin for measuring clock frequencies, and a clock signal 52 can be directly recognized by measuring the 1/n frequency-divided signal 53. Therefore, the clock frequencies can be measured in a sharply short time compared with a conventional manner for checking the clock frequencies for several days by using clock display, and the increase of the number of terminal pins can be escaped so that the miniaturization of a device size and low costs can be attained.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To secure the satisfactory correspondence to a CATV with a channel selector which is capable of remote control, by dividing a reception channel into plural areas and adding a means to select these divided areas. CONSTITUTION:When an auxiliary switch 10 is connected to C, the channel selection is carried out successively between ''1'' and ''36''. While the channel selection is carried out successively between ''1'' and ''24'' when the switch 10 is connected to B. Furthermore the channel selection is performed succesively between ''1'' and ''12'' when the switch 10 is connected to A. Therefore only the radio wave broadcast of both VHF and UHF is selected at all times with a direct channel selection key 21. Then the CATV broadcast of 13-36 channels can be selected in addition to the radio wave broadcast of VHF and UHF with operations of sequential selection keys 15U, 23U, 15D, and 23D respectively. Thus the satisfactory correspondence is secured to the CATV.
