Abstract: In a battery (2) including a battery cell formed in a flattened substantially parallelepiped shape and a terminal contacting section (222) electrically connected to the battery cell, at one end in the longitudinal direction of a face of the battery opposing to the face on which the terminal contacting section (222) is provided, a projecting portion (26) which projects in the longitudinal direction of the face is provided. Meanwhile, another projecting portion (27) which projects in the longitudinal direction of the face is provided at the other end. The projecting portions (26, 27) may have projecting lengths different from each other or may have projecting lengths and projecting thicknesses different from each other. A charging apparatus into which the battery (2) is to be installed includes an accommodating section (40) for the battery (2) which in turn includes projection accommodating portions (46 and 47) configured to individually accommodate the projecting portions (26 and 27). The accommodating section (40) includes a space for accommodating a battery (2D, 2E) wherein the battery cell has a rectangular principal face and another space for accommodating another battery (2) wherein the battery cell has a substantially square principal face, and charging terminals serve as charging terminals not only for the battery (2) but also for the battery (2D, 2E).

Abstract: A battery is prevented from being wrongly inserted into an image pickup device due to reduction of battery sizes. A mechanism for loading/unloading the battery (2) on/from the device (image pickup device (1)) whereupon the battery (2), which is a flat rectangular parallelepiped with a substantially square main plane, is removably mounted. On the both ends in a longitudinal direction on a rear plane opposing a plane inserting into the device, protruding sections (26, 27) are formed along the rear plane. Thus, even the flat rectangular parallelepiped battery (2) having the substantially square main plane can be prevented from being wrongly inserted into the device. The protruding section (27) has an inclined plane (271) inclined at an acute angle to the rear plane, and at the time of taking out the battery (2) from the device, the inclined plane (270) receives contact pressure from a locking means, and ejection of the battery (2) from the device is facilitated. The device is provided with a notched section (122) for exposing the other protruding section (26) when the battery (2) is loaded, and the battery is easily taken out.

Abstract: Erroneous insertion of a battery into an imaging device resulting from downsizing of the battery is prevented. In a battery loading and unloading mechanism for loading and unloading a battery 2 formed in a flat rectangular parallelepiped and having an almost square main surface to and from a device (an imaging device 1) to be detachably equipped with the battery 2, the battery 2 is formed with projecting portions 26, 27 at longitudinal both ends of a back surface thereof and along the back surface, the back surface being a surface opposite to an insertion surface of the battery inserted into the device, whereby even the battery formed in a flat rectangular parallelepiped and having the almost-square main surface can be prevented from being erroneously inserted into the device. The projecting portion 27 has an inclined surface 271 acutely inclined with respect to the back surface, and when the battery 2 is unloaded from the device, unloading of the battery 2 from the device is accelerated by the inclined surface 270 undergoing contact pressure of the retaining means. The device is formed with a notched portion 122 which is adapted to expose the other projecting portion 26 of the battery 2 when the battery 2 is loaded, thereby facilitating unloading of the battery.

Abstract: Se evita que una bateria se inserte erroneamente en un dispositivo de captacion de imagenes debido a la reduccion de los tamanos en la bateria. Un mecanismo para cargar y descargar la bateria (2) en/desde el dispositivo (dispositivo (1) de captacion de imagenes) en donde la bateria (2), la cual es un paralelepipedo rectangular plano con un plano principal sustancialmente cuadrado, se monta en forma removible. En ambos extremos en una direccion longitudinal en un plano posterior opuesto a un plano de insercion en el dispositivo, secciones (26, 27) proyectadas se forman a lo largo del plano posterior. De este modo, incluso se puede evitar que la bateria (2) formada en un paralelepipedo rectangular plano que tiene el plano principal sustancialmente cuadrado se inserte erroneamente en el dispositivo. La porcion (27) proyectada tiene un plano (271) inclinado en un angulo agudo al plano posterior, y al momento de retirar la bateria (2) del dispositivo, el plano (270) inclinado recibe presion de contacto de un medio de retencion, y se facilita la expulsion de la bateria (2) del dispositivo. El dispositivo se proporciona con una seccion (122) ranurada para exponer la otra seccion (26) proyectada cuando se carga la bateria (2), y se retira facilmente la bateria.
