Abstract:
A density-adjusting method of a liquid-discharging apparatus having a head (11) including a plurality of juxtaposed liquid-discharging units (12,13,18) having respective nozzles (18), forming dots by landing droplets discharged from the nozzles onto a droplet-landing object, and providing half tones by arranging a dot array is provided. A density-measuring pattern including all pixel trains lying in the main scanning direction with a constant density is formed, the density of the pattern is scanned so as to obtain density information and the relationship between the number and the density of droplets with respect to each pixel train. Upon receipt of a discharge command signal, based on the obtained data with respect to each pixel train, the density of the pixel train corresponding to the discharge command signal is adjusted by making the number of droplets to be actually discharged from the nozzles different from that of droplets discharged according to the discharge command signal.

An information providing system (1) includes an information apparatus (11) containing a medium type indicating a corresponding information type and having a setting function for setting a user identifier to specify a user who receives information provided and a connection function for connecting to a network, and an information server apparatus to which the information apparatus (11) is connected via the network. According to user profile data indicating information to be provided in accordance with the user identifier, database (23, 24) containing content data related to a medium type and an information genre, and a request from the information apparatus, the information server apparatus searches for and fetches content data from the database. The information apparatus (11) includes a request processing computer (21) for supplying the fetched data as content data of a corresponding medium type to the information apparatus (11). Thus, even an information apparatus having no sophisticated input apparatus can fetch information from the Internet and utilize it. Moreover, an information provider can provide information without being conscious what kind of apparatus a user uses for fetching information.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a gradation conversion technology providing excellent gradation reproducibility whereby a sweeping phenomenon and a pseudo contour are caused as a principle. SOLUTION: A gradation conversion apparatus for converting an image density signal with an m-value (m is a natural number) into an image density signal with a binary gradation comprises: (a) an input signal accumulation section for accumulating the m-value image density signal sequentially received to produce a first accumulation value; (b) an output signal accumulation section for accumulating the binary image density signal being a conversion output to produce a second accumulation value; and (c) an output gradation determination section that determines a smaller value of the two values to be the conversion output value when the first accumulation value is the same as the second accumulation value or the second accumulation value is greater than the first accumulation value, and determines a greater value of the two values to be the output conversion value when the second accumulation value is smaller than the first accumulation value. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control unevenness of density resulting from variation in characteristics at a liquid ejecting section without lowering the print speed and without increasing the memory. SOLUTION: In the density control method of a liquid ejector comprising a head juxtaposed with a plurality of liquid ejecting sections each having a nozzle, forming a dot by ejecting a liquid drop from the nozzle at the liquid ejecting section onto an object and capable of representing a halftone by dot arrangement, a density measurement pattern of a constant density is formed for all pixel strings in the main scanning direction, its density is read out, and then the density information of each pixel string and the relation between the number of ejected liquid drops and the density are determined. Upon receiving an ejection instruction signal, the number of liquid drops being ejected actually from the liquid ejecting section is differentiated from pixel string to pixel string based on the density information of that pixel string and the relation between the number of ejected liquid drops and the density thus controlling the density of a pixel string corresponding that ejection instruction signal. Abstract:
PURPOSE:To improve a voice recognition rate without limiting the degree of freedom in pronunciation by assigning the score obtained from the results of word spotting by patterns of unnecessary words and analyzing the word spotting results of a voice recognition part. CONSTITUTION:The device is provided with a voice recognition part 1 as a means for word spotting, an interactive control section 3 which builds up a hypothesis of the contents of voice pronunciation and generates the meaning and expression of the pronunciation and a parser 2 which analyzes the word spotting result based on the part 1. The parser 2 assigns score obtained as a result of word spotting by unnecessary work patterns against the remaining segment, to which no word spotting is done for standard or unnecessary word patterns, among voice segments and the word spotting results of the part 1 are analyzed. Thus, scores are obtained for the entire voice segments of the inputted voice and the recognition rate is improved.

SOLUTION: This information providing system 1 is constituted of information equipment 11, which is recorded with a media type indicating a corresponding information format, and provided with a function for setting a user identifier for specifying a user who receives information and a function for connecting a network and an information server device to which the information to equipment 11 is connected via the network. The information server device is provided with data bases 23 and 24, which are recorded with user profile data indicating information to be provided, according to the user identifier and contents data associated with the media type or an information genre and a request processing computer 21 for retrieving and acquiring the contents data from the data base, and for supplying the content data to the information equipment 11 as the contents data in the media type which corresponds to the information equipment 11, in response of a request from the information equipment.

PURPOSE:To increase the degree of freedom of vocalization and to improve the recognition rate of a speech by providing a case frame generating means which generates a new hypothesis for the vocalization contents of the speech on the basis of the analysis result of an analyzing means. CONSTITUTION:A purser 2 analyzes the recognition result of a speech recognition part 1 in vocalization units such as sentence units on the basis of a case frame representing the meaning of the hypothesis for the vocalization contents of the speech supplied from an interaction control part 3. The purser 2 repeats this process as to plural concept frames supplied from the interaction control part 3 and outputs the concept frame having the largest total scores described in an attribute value to the interaction control part 3 as the analysis result of the recognition result of the speech recognition part 1 once the description of the attribute values of respective slots of respective concept frames ends. The interaction control part 3 sets a hypothesis for the vocalization contents of a speech inputted to the speech recognition part on the basis of interaction control information stored previously in a domain knowledge dictionary 4 and generates a concept frame representing the meaning of the hypothesis.
