    Abstract: A door positioning hinge has a first hinge leaf 12, with knuckles 18 and 20, a hinge leaf with a detent knuckle 60 provided with four recesses in opposed pairs on the inner surface 62, and a pin assembly 15 having a hinge pin 17, an insert 19 and a spring 21. A cavity may be provided within the insert for the spring 21 which may be elastomeric, circular, sinusoidal, helical or integral with the insert and which biasses the sides of the insert outwards to engage the surface 62. The pin is keyed at 81. On rotation the side of the insert 19 releasably engages the recesses in the surface 62 to retain the door in predetermined angular positions. Hinge covers may be provided which have protrusions which engage in the cavities 32 and 56 provided in the hinge leaves.

    Abstract: A door positioning hinge comprising two hinge parts which are rotatably connected together by a hinge pin 815 which has at least a portion with a cross shaped cross section. A door positioning hinge kit having two hinge means each with a bore and including a first pin assembly with detent means to provide greater resistance to rotation when the hinge means are rotated to at least one predefined position and a second pin assembly adapted to provide free relative rotation between the first and second hinge means. A door positioning hinge comprising two hinge means each having a bore and a hinge pin disposed within the bores of the hinge means where the hinge pin has at least one resilient projection which exerts a retaining force against the bore of the hinge means. A door positioning hinge comprising first and second hinge means having at least one bore where at least one of the bores has an increased diameter portion. A hinge pin disposed within the bores of the first and second hinge means where the hinge pin has at least one annular boss which fits into the increased diameter portion of the bore and facilitates the retention of the hinge pin within the bore.
