    Abstract: The method for the ammoxidation of C3 to C5 paraffin hydrocarbon to its respective-unsaturated nitrile includes the reaction between C3 to C5 paraffin hydrocarbon and ammonia and oxygen in a reactor with fluidized bed at temperatures from 250 to 600 deg.C in the presence of catalyst having the following empiric formula VvSlmAaDdOx where A whenever present means tin and/or titanium; D when present means one or more of the following elements: lithium, magnesium, sodium, calcium, strontium, barium, cobalt, iron, chromium, gallium, nickel, zinc, germanium, niobium, zirconium, molybdenum, tungsten, copper, tellurium, tantalum, selenium, bismuth, cerium, indium, arsenic, boron, aluminium, phosphorus and manganese, and V means 1, m has the value of 0.5-75, a - from 0 to 25, d - from 0 to 25, x is determined by the degree of oxidation of the cations present.     Abstract: The invention is a method for the reduction of ammonia breakthrough during the manufacture of acrylonitrile comprising introducing a hydrocarbon selected from the group consisting of propane and isobutane; ammonia and an oxygen-containing gas into a lower portion of a fluid-bed reactor containing an ammoxidation catalyst to react in the presence of said catalyst to produce acrylonitrile. The method comprises introducing into the reactor at least one C2 to C5 olefin which will react with at least a portion of the unreacted ammonia and oxygen present in the reactor to substantially reduce the amount of ammonia in the reactor effluent exiting the reactor. 15 claims
