    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a conjugate filament having high nitrile content, excellent in processability and useful for woven or knitted fabric, nonwoven fabric, or the like by including plural specific polymers arranged in core-sheath configuration. SOLUTION: This conjugate filament having high nitrile content comprises two or more kinds of polymers arranged in sheath/core configuration. The sheath polymer is selected from the group consisting of an acrylonitrile olefinic unsaturated polymer composed of 50-95 wt.% acrylonitrile monomer and 5-50 wt.% olefinic unsaturated monomer such as methyl methacrylate, an organic polymer such as a polypropylene and a combination thereof. The sheath component content is 99-1%, preferably 90-10% based on the filament. The core polymer is selected from the group consisting of the above acrylonitrile olefin-based unsaturated polymer, the above organic polymer and a combination thereof, but the core polymer is different in the composition from the sheath polymer. The core component content is 1-99%, preferably 10-90% and is thermally stable.

    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-layer structure with different organic polymer layers containing, in detail, a typical organic polymer layer and an acrylonitrile olefinic unsaturated polymer which contains no solvent nor water and can be melt-processed, and a multi-layer preparation method. SOLUTION: This multi-layer structure is formed of a layer containing an organic polymer composition and a layer containing an acrylonitrile olefinic (olefinically) unsaturated polymer which contains no solvent nor water and can be melt-processed. The unsaturated polymer contains about 50-95 wt.% of polymerizable acrylonitrile monomer and about 5-50 wt.% of at least, one kind of polymerizable olefinic unsaturated monomer. The organic polymer and the acrylonitrile olefinic unsaturated polymer are thermally stable to each other.

    Abstract: A process for the production of high nitrile fibres comprising 50-95% by weight polymerised acrylonitrile monomer and 5-50% by weight of at least one polymerised olefinically unsaturated monomer is disclosed, in which the high nitrile multipolymer is melt extruded in the absence of solvent and water, and the resultant melt spun into a high nitrile filament at a temperature higher than the glass transition temperature of the multipolymer, with the monofilament or multiple filaments being collected as a bundle, web or combinations thereof.
