    Abstract: Nitrile copolymers and graft copolymers containing a high proportionate amount of olefinic nitrile are stabilized against thermal color degradation by inclusion into the polymer minor amounts of a compound having the formula: H CO ANGLE H HC¦C--C ANGLE PARALLEL Y¦X HC¦C--C ANGLE ANGLE H CO H and/or HO CH PARALLEL ANGLE HC¦C--C O-Z PARALLEL Y¦ HC¦C--C O-Z ANGLE CH PARALLEL HO wherein X may be oxygen; an imide group, -NH-; or an N-substituted imide group, -NR- wherein R may be an alkyl, or a phenyl alkyl group containing from 1 to 8 carbon atoms; Y may be an oxygen or a methylene group; and Z may be hydrogen or an alkyl group containing from 1 to 8 carbon atoms.
