Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for maintaining or improving the performance of a fluidized bed catalyst, especially that of the catalyst incorporated with metallic oxides, to provide a process for producing a improved metallic oxide catalyst, to provide a process for producing maleic anhydride by using this improved catalyst and to provide a reactor stand pipe based on these processes. SOLUTION: The process for maintaining and improving the performance of the fluidized bed of oxidation catalyst incorporated with mixed oxides of V and P includes a process for taking-out a portion of the fluidized catalyst from a reaction zone of the fluidized bed up to at least one reactor stand pipe, a process for bringing the portion of the fluidized by catalyst into contact with a reactivating agent and a process for returning the fluidized catalyst to the reaction zone of the fluidized bed catalyst.
