Abstract: A method is disclosed for making molecular sieving high silica mordenite comprising the steps of: (A) providing a mixture comprising: water; an oxide of silicon source; an oxide of aluminum source; a mineralizing agent; and a synthesis directing nitrogen containing organic dye; and (B) maintaining said mixture at a temperature of about 80.degree.C to about 300.degree.C for an effective period of time to provide said mordenite.
