    Abstract: An ear-wearable device (100) includes a shell (102) shaped for wearing in a user's ear. The shell (102) comprises a tunnel wall (116) shaped to define a tunnel (108) that passes through the ear- wearable device (100). The tunnel wall (116) defines one or more contact pin apertures (208, 212) through which distal ends (210, 214) of two or more contact pins (202, 204) pass. One or more electrical components (216) are encased within the shell (102). The contact pins (202, 204) are conductors from the one or more electrical components (216). The distal ends (210, 214) of the contact pins (202, 204) are positioned to make electrical contact with terminals (218, 220) of a cable plug (200) that is removably inserted into the tunnel (108).

Audio processing circuitry is disposed in or supported by the housing and comprises one or more microphones and a speaker or a receiver. The body portion (120) extends between a first end region (122) and a second end region (124) along a tube centerline (121). The first curved portion (132) defines a radius of curvature (Ri) that is greater than or equal to a radius of curvature (R2) defined by the second curved portion (134). The tube centerline may lie along an x-y plane between the first and second end regions. In one or more embodiments, the body portion may define a passageway extending between the first and second end regions. Further, the hearing device cable may include a superelastic wire within the passageway extending between the first and second end regions.

    Abstract: Examples of this disclosure relate to an accessory device for a hearing instrument. The accessory device comprises a connector tip that comprises a first wire segment and a second wire segment, lire first and second wire segments are electrically conductive and electrically insulated from each other. The connector tip also comprises a first set of bristles and a second set of bristles. The first and second sets of bristles are electrically conductive. The first set of bristles is electrically connected to the first wire segment and electrically insulated from the second wire segment. The second set of bristles is electrically connected to the second wire segment and electrically insulated from the first wire segment. The first set of bristles is spaced sufficiently far from the second set of bristles as to prevent a short circuit between the first and second sets of bristles.

    Abstract: An electro-optical physiologic sensor comprises a printed circuit board (PCB) and a light emitter and a photodetector respectively mounted to the PCB. A first sensor element is disposed on the PCB and comprises a first electrode configured to contact tissue of a subject and a first light channel co-located with the first electrode, the first light channel optically coupled to the light emitter and configured to direct light into the subject's tissue.     Abstract: An ear-worn electronic device comprises a housing, electronic circuitry, a power source, a microphone, and a receiver or speaker. The housing comprises a nozzle dimensioned for deployment within at least a portion of an ear canal. The nozzle comprises a distal portion, a proximal portion, a cavity within the nozzle, and a terminus surface at the distal portion comprising a sound port through which sound can pass out of the nozzle. The nozzle comprises an acoustical vent arrangement comprising a proximal port provided at the proximal portion, a plurality of distal ports provided at the terminus surface, and at least a portion of the nozzle cavity in fluid communication with the proximal port and the distal ports. Each of the distal ports has a volume smaller than that of the proximal port, and a volume of the proximal port is substantially equal to that of the distal ports cumulatively.
