Blends of a sulfone polymer, such as polysulfone, polyethersulfone, or polyphenylsulfone, and an impact resistant interpolymer comprising crosslinked acrylic or methacrylic rubber, crosslinked styrene-acrylonitrile, and uncrosslinked styrene-acrylonitrile polymer components are disclosed.
Abstract:
An inorganic filler material which has improved compatibility characteristics with certain polymeric substrates is disclosed. This filler material is one which is treated with an effective amount, for such improved compatibility of a saturated hydrocarbyl acid phosphate and/or a saturated hydrocarbyl acid pyrophosphate or an alkali metal or alkaline earth salt thereof. Polymeric compositions containing a polymer substrate and such filler are also disclosed.
Abstract:
A flame retardant blend having good impact resistance and a high heat deflection temperature comprising (1) a predominant amount of an interpolymer comprising: (a) cross- linked C 2 -C 10 alkyl acrylate or C 4 -C 22 alkyl methacrylate or mixtures thereof; (b) crosslinked styrene-acrylonitrile- and (c) uncrosslinked styrene-acrylonitrile components;
(2) a vinyl chloride homopolymer or vinyl chloride copolymer with a comonomer polymerizable therewith, wherein vinyl chloride is the predominant monomer, (3) a chlorinated vinyl chloride or vinyl chloride copolymer as defined in (2). This blend is particularly useful for use as an outdoor construction material.
