Abstract:
21,758. Stocks, H. L. Sept. 26. Signalling disagreement of controlling-gear and the like with order telegraphs.-Relates to alarm apparatus, specially suitable for ships' telegraphs, of the kind in which the circuit of an electric bell i is completed, when the telegraph and weigh-shaft are out of agreement, through contacts d on the telegraph spindle, contacts e or f on the telegraph dial, and contacts f or e associated with the wiper p which moves with the weigh-shaft t. In the present invention, the stationary contacts may be plate springs as shown at e, f, or segments as at e , f . The dial contacts e, f are mounted on an insulating-block v carried by a resilient spring w. The wiper p is borne by the end of the weigh-shaft, which is insulated at z and connected to the bell circuit by a wiper l.
