Abstract: A package is made of a cardboard blank with crease lines and has wall panels (1), bottom flaps (2) forming a bottom of the package and top flaps (3), namely short-side flaps (3A) and long-side flaps (3B), folded and heat seale d together to form the top of the package. One of the long-side flaps has at i ts free end a seal tab (4), which is provided with a heat seal adhesive and is sealed against the opposite long-side flap. The seal tab has a smaller lengt h than the width of the package for enabling it to be brought down into the to p of the package for reclosing thereof.

Abstract: The invention concerns a deep-drawn paper tray (4), particularly a shallow tray made of paperboard or cardboard, a method and an apparatus for manufacturing such a tray by deep-drawing techniques, and a closed product package comprising the tray of the invention, particularly a heat-sealed gas- and liquid-tight food package. The apparatus according to the invention may comprise upper and lower moulding tools (10, 11) with concentric movable frames (10b, 10c, 10d) for forming the tray bottom and side wall steps to paper blanks, and moulding tools (10) may be mounted onto a rotating turret (9) carrying a paper blank through working stations arranged along the turret circumference, to shape the tray bottom and the side wall steps at the consecutive stations.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing board (2), a board pro vided by the method, and a container formed from the same, such as a disposa ble drinking cup. According to the invention, fibre-based stock is doped wit h a polymer (6), ending in a pulp web that is formed of this pulp on a board machine wire, and in a board layer (3) that is obtained from the same by pr essing and drying. When the board layer is heated, the polymer melts and wat er vapour bubbles penetrate it, rendering the layer porous. The polymer used for the doping can comprise, for example, a low density polyethylene (LDPE) that has a melt viscosity of about 15. Pore-generating heating can be carri ed out for the board or only for the container manufactured from it. The por ous layer prevents the hot drink enjoyed from the cup from burning the finge rs of the user.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing board (2), a board provided by the method, and a container formed from the same, such as a disposable drinking cup.
