A deep-drawn paper tray made of paper material, a method and an apparatus for manufacturing the tray, and a closed product package comprising the tray. The tray having a bottom and upwardly expanding side walls around the bottom, the side walls of the tray being shaped to expand through a plurality of circumferential steps dimensioned low enough for obtaining wrinkle-free side walls for the tray. The outermost step is a flat, wrinkle-free rim flange, which enables liquid and gas proof heat-sealing of a lid to form the package. The apparatus may comprise upper and lower moulding tools with concentric movable frames for forming the tray bottom and side wall steps from paper blanks, and moulding tools may be mounted onto a rotating turret carrying a paper blank through working stations arranged along the turret circumference, to shape the tray bottom and the side wall steps at the consecutive stations.

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for deep-drawing a tray (1) from fiber-based sheet material (2), such as polymer coated board. The apparatus comprises a female moulding tool (3), which comprises a cavity (7) for forming the tray bottom outwardly, a male moulding tool (4), which comprises a plunger plate (11) for forming the tray bottom inwardly, the plunger plate being movable with respect to the cavity for forming the tray, and clamps (6, 15) with an interface for holding the sheet material and forming a tray rim flange. According to the invention by laterally distancing at least one of the moulding tools (3, 4) from the sheet material leeway is provided for free forming of the tray side walls while wrinkling or tearing of the same is avoided. Spacer plates (13) may be positioned behind the plunger plate (11), to adjust its position in relation to the cavity (7) of the female moulding tool (3). The cavity may have a separate bottom plate (8) and spacer plates (9) there below, or screw means may be provided for adjusting the distance of the bottom of the cavity from the clamp interface and thereby varying the depth of the tray.

The invention relates to a method and an apparatus for deep-drawing a tray (1) from a blank of sheet material (2). The blank is provided with score lines, which determine the location of wrinkles formed in the process. The apparatus comprises a female moulding tool (3), which comprises a cavity (7) for forming the tray bot-tom outwardly, a male moulding tool (4), which comprises a plunger (11) for form-ing the tray bottom inwardly, the plunger being movable with respect to the cavity for forming the tray, and clamps (6, 15) with an interface for holding the sheet ma-terial and forming a tray rim flange. The present invention relates to a container for liquid containing food products, manufactured by press forming of a polymer coated fiber based substrate, said container comprising a bottom portion, a sidewall portion and a top flange portion, wherein said press forming has resulted in the formation a plurality of creases extending in a direction from the bottom portion to the top flange portion and further across the top flange portion. The container comprises an indentation pattern (130, 140, 150, 160, 170, 180, 190a, 190b, 200) formed at a creased inner surface of said sidewall portion and/or at a creased top surface of said top flange portion, said indentation pattern preventing migration of liquid from a liquid containing food product in the container along said creases. The invention relates also to a method for manufacturing such container.

La invención se relaciona con una bandeja de papel de estirado profundo (4) particularmente una bandeja de poca profundidad elaborada de papel o cartón, un método y un aparato para la manufactura de la bandeja mediante técnicas de estirado profundo y un empaque para producto cerrado que comprende la bandeja de la invención, particularmente un empaque para producto hermético a gas y líquido, sellado por calor. La bandeja comprende un fondo (4a) y paredes laterales que se extienden hacia arriba alrededor del fondo, las paredes laterales de la bandeja están conformadas para expandirse a través de una pluralidad de peldaños circunferenciales (4b, 4c, 4d) que tienen un tamaño suficientemente bajo para obtener paredes laterales libres de arrugas para la bandeja. El peldaño más exterior es plano, el reborde de orilla libre de arrugas (4d), el cual permite un sellado por calor hermético al líquido y a gas de una tapa para formar el empaque. El aparato de acuerdo con la invención puede comprender herramientas de moldeo superior e inferior (10, 11) con armazones movibles concéntricos (10b, 10c, 10d) para formar el fondo de la bandeja y los peldaños de pared lateral para preformas de papel, y herramientas de moldeo (10) se pueden montar sobre una torreta giratoria (9) que transporta una preforma de papel a través de estaciones de trabajo distribuidas a lo largo de la circunferencia de la torreta, para conformar el fondo de la bandeja y los peldaños de pared lateral en las estaciones consecutivas.

The present invention relates to a web of fibrous cellulosic material derived from wood pulp, said web being suitable for three-dimensional moulding to form a packaging product, wherein the web has a grammage less than 400 g/m2, and comprises >40 wt% of soft wood chemical pulp, wherein said web further has at least one natural binder agent in the form of starch at an amount of 5-75 kg/tn, and wherein the cellulose fibers of said soft wood chemical pulp comprise a fiber curl of >9%.

Un método de embutición profunda de una bandeja (1) a partir de material de lámina (2) seleccionado de un grupo que consiste en papel, cartoncillo, cartulina, papel o cartón recubierto de polímero, papel o cartón laminado con metal, metal y un compuesto de metal y polímero, comprendiendo el método las etapas de: (i) proporcionar, de manera transversal, líneas de marcado al material de lámina en la circunferencia de la bandeja que se está formando, (ii) llevar el material de lámina marcado entre una herramienta de moldeo hembra (3), que comprende una cavidad (7) para formar el fondo de la bandeja hacia fuera, y una herramienta de moldeo macho (4), que comprende un émbolo (11) para formar el fondo de la bandeja hacia dentro, (iii) pinzar el material de lámina a lo largo de dicha circunferencia de la bandeja por medio de las herramientas de moldeo hembra y macho (3, 4), para sujetar el material (2) durante la etapa de embutición profunda y el método caracterizado por la etapa de (iv) mover el émbolo (11) con respecto a la cavidad (7) para formar el fondo de la bandeja y terminar, de ese modo, la bandeja, mientras que, entre el fondo de la cavidad y la interfaz de la pinza, la herramienta de moldeo macho se mantiene lateralmente distanciada del material de lámina, para permitir que las líneas de marcado determinen el arrugamiento del material de lámina que forma la pared lateral de la bandeja terminada en un espacio abierto proporcionado por la herramienta de moldeo macho distanciada lateralmente, estando dicho espacio ubicado dentro de la pared lateral de la bandeja que se está formando.
