Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for sealing a package (1) containing a product (4), wherein the lid portion (3) and the bottom portion (2) of the package are joined together by means of plastic material. The bottom portion (2) and the lid portion (3) are joined together by sealing by injection moulding, by moulding plastic material (5) on both sides of a joint (10) between the bottom portion and the lid portion in such a way that the plastic material (5) exteriorly covers the joint (10) on the outside and joins the bottom portion (2) and the lid portion (3) together.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method of providing board containers (V) with prints and a printing machine that applies the method. According to the invention, the printing machine comprises a turret head (2), with uniformly spaced radial arms (3) diverging from its rotational axis, each arm ending in a mandrel (4) that carries a container (1); and stationary stations (5, 6, 8) that are located on the path of the turret head for gripping a container, printing it by a printhead (7, 13), and removing the printed container (V). At the printing station (6), the container (1) is digital-printed by the printhead (7), past which the surface of the container is conveyed by means of a rotational motion. The container can be a conical drinking cup (1), which is ink-jet printed by the stationary printhead (7) by rotating the cup by 360° by means of the mandrel (4) that is pushed inside the cup. The cups (1) can be produced at a plant in mass-scale production runs and divided into smaller lots, which are delivered to customers and which the customers then print according to their own individual needs.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for protecting the untrimmed edge of paperboard or paper (1), in which method the untrimmed edge (4) of two adjacent paperboards or papers are protected and attached abuttingly together by sealing a separate profile (3) on both sides of the abutment of the edges (4) by means of ultrasound.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a heat-sealing method, in which a polymer material (1) forming the seal is melted or softened with an air flow (4) blown to the sealing point (11). In accordance with the invention, water (7, 9) is added to the air flow in order to increase the moisture content of the hot sealing air. The air is heated by resistance heating or flame heating and the water can be introduced in the hot air flow in the form of water, which subsequently evaporates, or in the form of water vapour. The method is suitable i.a. for producing packaging containers by sealing polymercoated paper or board.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a ready-made food package, to a method for manufacturing it and to the use of polymer-coated board in the ready-made food package. The package is manufactured by placing the food ( 16 ) in a raw state in the tray ( 2 ) where the food is baked, and by closing the tray with a lid ( 4 ) after baking. In accordance with the invention, the lid ( 4 ) is formed from a blank cut from polymer-coated board, the blank being placed over the mouth of the tray ( 2 ), and then the edges ( 9 ) of the blank are bent under the rim flange ( 6 ) of the tray and heat-sealed to the lower surface ( 11 ) of the rim flange by means of the polymer coating ( 14 ) of the board. The lid can be additionally heat-sealed to the upper surface ( 10 ) of the rim flange, so that two sealing lines ( 15 ) will be formed inside each other in the package. Accordingly, the tray ( 2 ) can be formed of polymer-coated board or optionally of polymer or aluminium alone.
Abstract:
A board tray, a method for manufacturing a board tray and a tray blank from which the board tray is manufactured, said board tray containing side walls and a bottom wall made of a board layer provided on at least one surface thereof with a plastic coating, wherein areas of reduced thickness are formed in the board layer whereby portions of the plastic layer which have been melted and are disposed adjacent to areas of reduced thickness are compressed into such areas forming double-folded linear plastic compressions which seal on themselves.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for sealing a fiber-based material (1, 4) to a counter-surface to be bonded to it by melting polymer present at the sealing point. In accordance with the invention, the sealing is performed by directing a laser beam (8) through the fiber layer (4) of the material to a radiation-absorbing pigment disposed in the sealing area (9), with the absorption heat melting the polymer (5) and generating the sealing. The method allows sealing of plastic-coated paper or board to itself, to another plastic counter-surface or also to paper or board without any plastic coating. It is also possible to seal uncoated paper or board to paper or board containing plastic, such as plastic-coated paper or board, or to a plastic film. The absorptive pigment, e.g. carbon black, may be admixed in the plastic coating of the board or paper or the plastic film formed on the counter-surface, or the pigment may be located on the surface of the material to be sealed or its fiber layer, or on the counter-surface to which the material is sealed, e.g. as a component of printing ink applied to the counter-surface.
